thank you, thank you. Had some small problems here and there that have kept me from finishing it. one is that I suck at painting, but hope to get that fixed soon. My design piece for the window got messed up at the machine shop, so I have to order a new piece of acrylic and one of my fans is in the process of being replaced. might change out a couple of the connections as well to clean up the hoses a little more. still have not decided on that yet, will know by next week. so this will be updated to a finished status soon. till then,

green so dark its almost black is badass!!! phantom cases just look killer dark like that...really clean well planed build...most certainly worthy of praise

Only just found this and had to read it from start to finish. I'm inspired, would love to take out the fugly D14 out of my phantom and put a 240 in the roof, I'll have to wrestle with that idea (or a curvy red-head).

My god the work you put in Awesome. Like the build.

But I have some question -1/Was there any problems with the removal/re-attachment of the fan controller etc?

2/Did you try to painting the plastic tool less locking fittings?

3/ If not do you think they would take painting?

Looking foreword to your next Mod.

1: Fan controller and power/connections assembly is quite easy. they are each held on with a couple of screws and after clipping the zip ties on the case they come off easily and clean. Fan controller is a breeze, just unhook all the wires and pull the screws. wires are marked, so no worries.

2: I did not try to paint them, wanted to use them for some contrast. also figured the paint would come off easily. they do flex quite a bit.

3: I would not recommend it with the paint I used, and I personally suck at painting. need more practice. I dont know if there is a flexible paint you could use, but for removal/install to/from the case there is some serious bending and I'm not sure if the paint would stay.

Looks awesome. I actually have the same case and mb. just wondering how many of each type of BitsPower compression fittings did you use? Im thinking of doing this.

I used 8 - 3/8"ID 1/2"OD compression fittings

4 - 90 degree

3 - 45 degree

6 - 3/8" barbs

I could of used a couple more compression fittings and a couple more 90 degree elbows, but them things are forking expensive so I limited myself on them.

Got some more fans today, but for some reason I keep getting one that rattles. So I have two more to change out, a couple of small windows to make and still trying to figure out the paint on this thing. I'm about to call it done, mostly because I want to get started on the next build. I will get this thing done and posted in the rig gallery at some point... I hope.

Any reason you didnt put a waterblock on the other vreg at the top? or am i mistaken and that is something else there

I did not add one there because it was not necessary. I wanted a block on the NB because it is extremely hot on air and the one vreg heatsink was connected with a heatpipe to the NB heatsink, so it was necessary there.

Finally!

It's done! well for the most part. The paint is still.... not the best it could be, but I'm tired of fudging with it. So Lets Bring you up to current. I just finished up with a silly picture session to finish out this incredibly long build. So without further adieu.... Bring on the pics!

So I got the big window done right before I moved to the new place.

Doing granite tops even helped a bit when i softened up the corners and sides of the window.

Finished the edges out with some molding and liked the finished product.

What I wasn't happy with was the mesh over the fans and bad paint. This was going to have to wait until after the move though.

After moving, being sick with the Flu for two weeks and then playing catch up at work for the next three weeks I didn't have much time to do anything else.

With a few aides and a little patience I finally got the fan grill drawn out, then it only took me about three days to Dremel it out. Them Bits are expensive

But I think it cleans up quite nice.

Then I got some 5mm UV LED's and mad a few little fixtures for accent lighting.

Ordered a few more fans, couple of nice filters, sanded, polished, waxed the paint on the side panels, stuck in some lights, hooked up some switches and called it done!

One thing I have learned about my painting experience... PAY to get it done. It's faster, easier and less stressful in the end. I hate painting. It's still a bit off, but I'm going to live with it... for a while maybe.
