xp/vista ith cod4 help

as some of you may know, i have the Vista briopack installed to make my XP look like Vista. i am currently having problems with call of duty 4 online

when i try to connect to a server, i am told that my CD Key is in use and to try again later :nono: .. but i know this is not true as i am the only one with my CD Key and i havent installed any keygens or random .exe files which could take my Key... could this be a problem related to the bricopack?

i have tried un-installing/re-installing etc.. none which have worked .. tried updating and not updating and stil doesnt work .. also ive heard that Activision are getting a lot of these types of problems lately

any ideas ?

The theme pack you are running has no relation to CoD4 what so ever.

It is more than likely that someone else has your key.

i was really looking forward to playing online .. and theres no point asking activition for a new key as they will just tell me to buy another one which i may have to do

As above it is more than likely somebody has got the key, but it could be an error and is still worthwhile contacting them.

As you say if somebody has guessed the key and using it then you will not get another one as the EULA does not cover this problem. It seems that alot of people are in the same boat form what i have been reading, I would suggest that it is worthwhile getting a complaint registered if anything to help get a solution for future releases.

There are people selling keys, that they have basically sat there all day with the keygens going through the keys and testing them. That is very bad and like I say would be worthwhile getting the complaint registered.

Try putting your CD-Key in again and check the PB Ban list

This problem with two people having the same CD-key, I think is a BS answer from the likes of Activision/PB cause it only stops people from playing when they are on at the same time.

My two flatmates share their copy of CoD4 (same CD-Key) and when one disconnects the other computer can go online. I initally thought this was accepted because they were using the same IP but One flatmate recently moved in with their partner and both machines still run the game (just not at the same time)

It is usually something to do with PunkBuster.

If the server doesn't have PunkBuster you can play with the same key.

Other than that you have to go on at different times.

still unsure of the problem but i downloaded xfire today to see if the problem still occured. it seems to only occur on ALL english servers and on only a few american, czech, german etc servers. every enligh one (that has pb or not) does not allow me on. but on some of the foreign servers it lets me play no idea why but at least can now play online its awsome

i got it from Game quite a while ago .. awsome game .. you should get it if you have not already .. and yes ive emailed activision but i doubt il get any help from them

It can happen that legit keys get repeated in keygens. Some1 else uses it and does *whatever* and ur screwed.

Can`t imagine that if u can prove ur purchase that the CoD4 people wouldn`t sort it out for u.

Wonder if Game would legally have to replace the game if u get it home and can`t use it ?

well ive seen on a number of forums across the web of people having the same problem and they have sent email's to activision and they say that they have no part in the prodcution process of the cd key and that they are just done during the production line and put in the case and thats that. they also dont seem to want to help any of us anyway. im just glad now that i can play on some servers, just not all.

oh well il see what email they reply to me, if any
