I was on ebay today just searching around and I came across the XFX HD 5970 Black Edition (the one that comes in a gun lol) anyhow as of my post it is going for close to 10,500 dollars with 20 bids OMGGGGGGGG.

Honestly why would anybody pay that much? But if you are interested place your bids now lol.

Ahhhhh I seeeeeee. I've heard rumours about this card, as the seller states it comes in a special "gun" style case and is limited edition whilst also being an "Eyefinity 6" card. I assume it must be XFX's cream of the crop, in terms of chips, and clocks like a b****! Still, at current rates, that's nearly £7k in English monies, which is ridiculous even for a limitied edition - I mean, even the Asus Mars didn't cost anwhere near that much and NVidia stuff is always more expensive than ATi!

Was #68 the one XFX mentioned in that email saying it had gone missing? So for all their viral marketing, it's on fleabay. Just shows that there are some people out there who'll pay crazy money for all sorts.

Its not missing its all a publicity stunt. This has been leaked on purpose because they know the Asus Ares is going to spank it when released.

Yeah I get that it's for publicity and the email was all marketing, but it looks like the auction is genuine! Who'd buy it for that much? Unless I'm missing something and it's a fake auction?

Yeah its quite obvious this is some marketing stunt, In the next few days no doubt this will be on all the gadget blogs, also I guarantee the auction is real but im sure there all inside bidders.

Ahh didn't see this thread.

I don't see that it's a bad thing that the marketing is working.

Fair play to them for going a bit further and being a little more imaginative with their advertising.
