XFX 280X black screen

So i finally got rid of my 6950. RIP buddy :|

Bought an XFX 280X and decided to to a fresh installation on windows as well.
So far so good. Also got new Mobo Bios and everything to the latest drivers.

If i now install Catalyst 13.11 beta7 and restart my pc i get a black screen after windows loading screen.

F8 boot into save mode and i have a fully working picture.

AMD driver cleaner -> restart -> picture works.

Driver install -> restart -> black screen.

I have no idea what in the world is causing that bs.

hmm ok am not sure then, thought it may have been windows 8.1 as i am having problems at the moment. sorry i couldn't be more helpful

Just found out that windoes completey crashed after the loading screen. So not only black screen, but also windows crash. The only way to turn the pc off now is to press the power button 5 sec.

Tried older driver? I'm using beta 6 still. Re-flash your bios to the previous one you had if you have no luck. Had a friend who had more issues everytime he flashed his bios to the current version. Always found himself going back to an older bios.

Yeah i tried 13.6 which is on the driver cd in the box.

Nobody any ideas ? Looks like a faulty chip... RMA here i come and no bf4 till then
