XBox Users banned from Xbox lLive

The 360 would say it was modded if you got it off eBay.

I think the banning is a good thing

agreed. If you're going to cheat the system then you should be punished

They have every right to do so and people can-not complain about it.

I would wonder how long it will take for a new "chip" to come out that will circumvent this. I almost know it's going to happen, just a matter of time, which then ofc leads to a resource of new income for these people.

Article confuses me with the opening statement mentioning 10s of thousands and a snippet underneath mentions 20 million. Couldn't really see them banning 20 million.

Stupid people who don't realise chipping it is bannable >< My friends had cracked / chipped xboxes but they knew right from the beginning and were aware of it.

20 million is their total player base Rasta, the tens of thousands is the amount of people banned.

Rofl, that guy in the article sounds like theres no problem is stealing £600 worth of games!?

Some people just have no idea of right and wrong.

Ban them all!

The BBC look like they've got a typical teenage retard and interviewed him.

Yeah stealing £600 of games is fine, sure thing.

People have to realise it IS stealing. They wouldn't just go an nick a £600 laptop and expect that to be OK, so why the hell is it OK to steal games?

MW2 was £26 in Sainsbury's and £32 from Amazon. That's more than reasonable imo

At the end of the day £25 for a lot of hours enjoyment is a small price to pay.

Im eagerly awaiting L4D2 with my working, not chipped xbox.

he's argument was that not many people could afford it... so why have an xbox when they should use that money for food or something?

I find pirating game, software, movies, music, all AOK. Can't touch it or feel it, so f* it. :) I download new box office hits and pc games, software by the Terabyte on a weekly basis. :)

And if I could get away with stealing a laptop, a car, or anything else as easy as it is to download to my hearts content all day long, I would. :D

That's simply what happens if you do something illegal. It's like the guy expect something to happen because he feels bad about it. If you've savede 600 quid mate, then buy another xbox. Then you won't get banned again, and you won't have to keep buying xboxes.

Retard.

I work in the gaming industry, and i'm glad to see people banned, that £600 could of gone to companies, which then they can make more games, which would give me more work :)

I agree, but I am in the mind set of try before you buy. I dont want to spend £30 and have it go down the drain because I dont like it.

So I downloaded cod4 and played it for a bit. I loved it. I bought it. I dont think that there was any harm at all in that.

freak....

betas and demos are normally the best way to go about thinking of purchasing a game :D i've never downloaded a game illegally and i think its completely reatarded to do so, anyone who does this deserves every piracy law around to be dropped on there head.

Just came accross this on another forum, made me chuckle! :p

Sing in the style of Fresh Prince!

Now, this is a story all about how

My life got flipped-turned upside down

And I liked to take a minute

get ready to Jive

I'll tell you how Microsoft banned me from Live

In west Philadelphia born and raised

On the Xbox was where I spent most of my days

Chillin' out maxin' on my bedroom floor

And shootin some n00bs on call of duty 4

When a couple of guys

They were up to no good

Started flashin Liteons in my neighborhood

I backed up one little game but then I got scared

but C4EVA says it's safe so I really don't care

Forza 3 was due and when it came near

I played the damn thing early because I'd waited all year

If anything I can say this game was rare

But I thought 'Nah forget it' - 'I got stealth Firmware!'

I turned on my xbox about 8 or 9

And I hit the little button that said "connect to xbox live"

I looked at my screen

And I shouted abuse

"Banned for violation of the terms of use""

Good work Microsoft. People need to understand the values of Intellectual Property and that stealing is not just confined to the realms of physical objects.

I still think they should lower the prices. There are 16-year-old kids out there, they don't earn money so they go screaming to their parents saying, 'Can you buy me this game?'

Fair enough, one game once in a while but the amount of games coming out, good games, everyone wants to play them all. And for them to pay £50 a game?

This is what really gets me. Playing games is a privilege, not a right. The games are priced how they are and that's how it is. If you can't afford it then tough. Wait for the prices to drop or for versions of them to appear on the used market in CEX for exaxmple.

How is it any different if I were to one day decide that I deserve a Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP Monitor, smash a window and take it away? The retailer in question will no doubt be able to afford to fix that window and put another 2408WFP on display so therefore no harm done right? Absolutely unbelievable.

In modern day society, so many people have forgotten the meaning of a pound sterling. If you want something, get up and work for it. There's no such thing as a free lunch...
