Xbox One Wireless adapter for PCs will come out next week

bought my xbox one controller about 6 months ago haven't used it lol, keep using my wireless 360 one as couldn't be bothered to keep plugging the cable in and out.

the adaptor looks like it will stick out the back of my pc quite a bit which would be an issue for me.

I see a few people have commented on running this internal how would I do this?

thanks Baz

I think the adapter comes with an extension cable.

Another question. So I have bought a Xbone controller wired. That means it's basically a wireless controller with a cable I can plug in to make it wired.

Does that mean if I put rechargeable batteries in it they would charge when I run it wired? or it is monopolised only to use MS's battery pack thing?

MS do say not to use rechargeable batteries other than the official pack. This may just be marketing stuff though.

"While you can use standard AA (LR6) batteries in your Xbox One Wireless Controller, standard rechargeable AA batteries are not recommended."

No worries :)

Just got mine. Feels a little weird tbh. Definitely seems shorter than the 360 controller but I really like the triggers and the D pad feels like it's on mouse buttons now so far more precise :)

Awesome sauce.

Let me know what you think after an extended gaming session, that was always what I liked most about my 360 controller, the comfort!

I know with the old Xbox pack it was just a 2400mah battery at 1.2 volts. So rechargeable where fine still are with the new one im not sure but its mainly i bet to stop people plugging them in while in the controller. As i have seen a few bats leak from being charged that way. I used Ni-Zi bats which had around 1.55V and where 2500mah and they lasted as long as normal decent cells and could recharge them :)

But till i get my Xbox One controller ill have to wait and see.

I won't charge the batteries in the controller. I'll just put them in their charger :)

Best controller ever made bar none. Bear in mind I have had my 360 wired controller for seven years and aside from being a little faded to yellow and grubby it still works perfectly.

Seriously the 360 controller was about as close to a perfect controller as you could get..

I agree completely, I had a wired one I bought specifically for the PC, stupidly however I gave a lend of it to a friend and never got it back  considering getting the XBONE one if I can spare the monies to buy it otherwise I'll just get another 360 pad :)

But GPU first, I dont think this 6670 will play FO4 particularly well :p

haha no you'll need a new GPU from the sound of it.

I did at one point buy a black 360 wired controller but when I gave my step son a gaming PC for his 21st I chucked it in with that.

I just think the whole design, build quality (all of MS products are built beautifully) and so on was unmatched.

If I have another "gaming" mouse fail on me then I am going to get something from MS. I had one of those weird natural keyboards for years and it was a true work horse.

Does he recommend it?

It is still no match for a mouse and keyboard, but it certainly makes playing Civ on the Sofa a possibility.

Those who pre-ordered early have got the controller and link, I am one of the lucky few.

i was watching boogie"some numbers here" (the guy that plays francis on youtube)
he did a small review on it, pulled it out and was saying
"well i dont really think this is a good idea"
and
"it will probably take me a while to get used to it"

within 10 mins probably closer to 5 he was saying
"oh wow this works pretty well."
and
"i got used to this so much faster than i thought"

so it seems like its been designed pretty well (actual thought put in to it, and not just innovation for innovations sake.)

Again, i personally very rarely use a game pad so my wired 360 controller will serve me fine. but if i was a game pad user. i would want to at least try it so if i had a 360 controller (which i do), and was thinking of getting a xbox 1 controller to replace it for no good reason other than its newer, I would personally at least try the steam controller. i assume you can return it if it sux.

I bought mine for one reason only : Fallout 4. Aiming is mostly taken care of via V.A.T.S and things like headshots are not overly important.

Maybe I'm getting too old for ten hour sessions on a keyboard and mouse but it's one of those games that just works better on a pad.
