Xbox announcement

I LMAO at the whole live stream tbh. "Forza looks better" (not a direct quote)... Uhh no shit? It is a next gen game after all. And COD: Ghosts... WOW... "we want players to get emoitionally attached" so they added a Seal Team 6 dog and made the game look better along with better facial animations even though it's a FPS and we only see the hands anyway... So much more on that game but not worth typing unless you guys want a few more:p

Only neat thing was the way you interact with it but i also feel that they make it so easy it just shows how lazy the human race is becoming...

In consoles i don't care about the features and only the graphics and gameplay(since they suck compared to PC): with PC it's mainly gameplay. PS4 "should" provide that if spec rumors are true.

All in all i wasn't impressed with either PS4/One(terrible name:p) but it's too early to completely neglect them.. Sorry if this came off as SUPER biased btw:rolleyes:

The console looks like a old DVD Recoder with a hdd included in it.

The new COD game looks garbage considering it is using a new engine, it looks like it was made 5 years ago.

Still I will be keeping an eye on this and see what happens, but love the highlight video above since it does appear the new Xbox is mainly focused on TV and COD.

sony went down that "all-in-one system" road and it didn't work out for them, the funny thing is all most everyone i know who has a ps3 or xbox has a tv and pc/laptop... M$ give me one good reason why i should buy a Xbox one over a PS4?

should be asking, give me one good reason to buy the ps4/xbox one over ps3/xbox 360.

Lol @ people getting this worked up over a console

Does it play games? Yes.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the box itself. But if there was some sort of way to run that OS on a pc, it would be pretty damn cool imo. Only as a secondary OS though

“Xbox is about to become the next watercooler”
What a horrible metaphor.

i think it was meant as the place to "meet new people" as is such with the water cooler or maybe she meant "the place where you go when you need a break from what you're doing" most notable the thing you're being paid to do.

well... i just watched the entire 'reveal' on YT.

there are some nice features, but come on now, who actually thinks that the FMVs from the games are actual realtime gameplay?

they are but only cutscenes and inter-'mission' videos.

the ONE's box architecture specs are nice though, without the kinekt, glass, or revamped controller.

i will (honestly) probably end up getting one, just to say i have one (to add to my boy's toys collection)........... BUT i truly think the power will end up with the PS4.

E3!!! bring it on - and show me some REAL gameplay in action.

I dunno where the 1000 euro figure is comeing from, but on Zavvi it is £399.99 whichis equal to 466 Euro, there is no way it will be 1000 euro.

More than likely some company chancing their arm to see if some sad twat will pay over the odds just to say he has it on preorder. It wont be 1000e god could you imagine the uproar if it was. £399.99 seems more realistic.

What i think...

- Too many unnecessary features adding £££'s
- Time/effort/performance not divided correctly (gaming should be the number 1 priority and other things more of an after thought)

I can see why they'll charge a fee for used games and not let people share. Sharing is actually a violation of copyright law, not to mention the lost revenue each time a person plays a game without buying it. You cant sell on apps on your smartphone or lend them to people, yet no ones moaning about that. Same goes for digital music downloads (though Apple are supposedly setting up a used music market).

No backwards compatibility... This makes sense to me. If the new xbox runs on a completely new architecture, then how exactly are the old games meant to work? To make them work, wouldn't Microsoft have to essentially include a 360 inside the one? I'm sure everyone would moan at a £600 price tag, just so they can play 360 games.

The way I see it apps(usually £1 or less) and music are much cheaper. If they are willing to sell new released games for £10 then sure, I got nothing against that fee but I don't see that happening.
And you can "lend" apps on Android at least. I got a separate gmail account just for buying apps and I share that with my brother :D.

Thats not a fair metaphor. Apps can be written and coded by one person in a few days. Not to mention big apps like facebook and gmail might take more people but they are free because the business wants you using their product why do you think gmail and facebook is free to sign up because they sell ad revenue.

Now games can take one person but the AAA games take a vast team from programmers to artists and marketing. If you just take one programmer alone their salary is quite a lot more than the average app maker.

I agree with what you're saying. What I said was just my view on why people don't moan about selling/lending apps/music.

well my guess is :

xbox one preview and clips about the kinect and tv , it was good, very exiting......

However the games failed , im not a sports fan and all the releases are sports games.

my advice :
xbox needs to go to PlayStation conferences and learn how to pull one.

it seems the new consoles wont be compatible with their past versions (it reduces the cost somehow and its a trick to get your fav games from previous versions with a download on ps network or xboxlive)

im sorry i did want to buy an xbox instead of ps4, but right now PS4 seems to be the right choise

How much will the new console cost, and how many versions will there be?
So much has changed since the last round of living-room game consoles were released in the mid-2000s. Fully featured touch-screen laptops are available for less than $600, and game-playing Android tablets are under $200. Can a standalone game console, no matter what extra features it offers, entice gamers at $499 or above?

The final price and bundle specs for the Xbox One may come at E3 2013, or may come at some point after that, but $399/$499 seems to be a smart bet.

and PlayStation : http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/games/1298257/ps4-price-release-date-controller-specs-news

Now there are rumours that the PS4 is likely to cost $400, but it's not that simple. A Japanese newspaper reported it will cost at least YEN40,000, which translates to at least $400, which in turn works out to at least £310 in the UK including tax.

Going on historical facts, the original PlayStation sold for £299, as did the PlayStation 2, the PlayStation 3 price jumped up to a whopping £425. Adjust those prices by the retail price index and you get 2013 prices of - £471, £412 and £504 respectively. Thankfully electronics haven't risen in price in line with RPI, but you still get some idea of how hard Sony will have to try to bring in the console at a competitive £299 - which would be the sweet spot fans are hoping for.

but we might expect some idiot on amazon to re-sell the console for a stupid price "lets face it amazon, ebay and some others are the way that stupid people can buy a new console in the first days, i might buy some extras just to resell, if im ever unblocked from paypal LOL
