XBox 360 Harddrive

So anyway, my nephew has an XBox 360 without a harddrive (doesn`t mean anything to me) - anywayz I seen the official 20GIG!!!!! one selling for ~£69 - which to me seems a bit excessive.

Now I goto my fave console extras site and get this:

Arent there any 3rd party drive thingies u can plug u`r own hard drive into ? I`m not sure I can condone £69 for 20GIG.

nope, dont think there is. there meant to be bringing out a bigger one soon. but it only means the price is going to be bigger too.

Ah well, does suck, I`ve noticed u can get a 4GIG!!! usb thingy for $170!!! nice.

I wonder if regular usb drives will work ok ... nah they`d`ve made sure they don`t I spect.

Oh and u can send u`r 360 to some1 and for $10 they`ll fit a drive for u .... ya right.

That`s a fair comment.

But simiarly if u want to add a 300g hard drive to the mix, on the one hand u can for ~£50 and on the other u have to shell out £60 and get only 20g.

And prehaps arguably u could add a G80 card to u`r pc in a year or 2`s time for £200 or less, and u`d be pressured to buy a new console for the other.

It`s all swings and round abouts, and different arenas.

Agreed but the 360 (for me) is undoubtedly the best console for pure gaming out right now
