X1900XTX + Vista 32 = Bad Performance...

Hey All

Just went over to Vista 32 and using ATI 7.2 drivers i am getting really bad performance.

Like 50fps in css when before I got 100fps.

Also my battlefield 2 and pretty much every other game has suffered a huge drop in performance.

I am running a Sapphire X1900XTX 512mb and everything ran fine under xp.

Is this just a case of bad drivers or what...

Thanks, Sam

Umm mine dropped from 120-140ish to about 100-120ish so I spose it's dropped (1920 x 1200, 4 AA x 16x AF).

It'll improve, dw about it ;)

How is it that I can play Source @ max running Vista Ultimate...with my 7600 GT xXx? The x1900 whips the shat out of my card. My 2gb of ram perhaps?

Eh just wait it out. 50fps is still fine enough to where you wont lag anyways. Thats why im not on Vista yet, if i do ill have to use my 7950GT until they get better drivers for ATI.

My rig has gone from about 140-180 @ max setting to 120 peak, the new NV drivers dont like smoke either, scoping in through it knocks my FPS to about 30

I have an X1900XT in my current rig. I've been using Vista since December (MSDN subscriber) and I've only recently "seen the light" - I'm going back to XP for my new build. The overall system performance hit is too big.
