NVIDIA IS spinning the world+dog that ATI is running into a Platinum Edition situation all over again. Nvidia is wrong this time, as we managed to talk with a senior ATI executive who confirmed that ATI can ship volumes of Radeon X1800XT at its 625/1500 clock speed.

ATI also implied that if it wanted to make extreme fast platinum edition clock that it would be able to push the chips even higher than 625MHz/1500MHz.

The company confirmed that it can and will ship volumes of X1800XT in November and I believe that our US readers should be able to easily buy one for Thanksgiving shopping in quantities. Bear in mind that Radeon X1800XT cards will start appearing on the 10th of November, even before Thanksgiving but those cards might be already sold by pre-order.

The slower X1800XL cards are actually already finished and most of them are either on ships or at the Zoll gate.

Its direct competitors Geforce 7800 GTX, and Geforce 7800 GT powered with SLI Nforce 4 platform are available as we speak, but some are willing to wait for ATI.

Who cares! :p

I think that possibly, that card is freakin UBER OMFG overclockable....and you're all jumping the gun to quickly.

This may be like the 9700Pro. Buggy. They come out with a 9800Pro and it rapes nV like no end. Also seen with the X800XT PE, they came out with the X850XT PE and...raped nV like no end.

X1850XT PE? Very possible. Sit tight, guys. Wait for some REAL benchmark's, and some REAL overclock's. I chill a lot over @ XS, I'll post any here, if I see any.

Even the 9700 Pro raped nVidia, because the FX series sucked. ATI only came out with the X850XT PE because nVidia raped them and they couldn't handle it, the old 6800 Ultra still kept up with the X850XT PE quite nicely even though ATI needed all that extra time to get the X850 out.
