I must say, I'm absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the performance of the 7600GT I put in the new rig I built. Just messing around with a few games (BF2, and CoD2) and both run buttery arse smooth at native res of 1440x900 and detail settings on high with 4xAA. Totally impressed that that tiny little card produces so much power. And not to mention how darn cheap it is too, I think I paid something like $139 for it.

So, if you're looking for a new video card, and you're not looking to buy high-end uber expensive equipment look no further than the 7600GT. I would imagine that a pair of these in SLI would be sweeeeeeeeet.

Ok, just wanted to let u know how awesome this card is :)

Cool, how does it compare to the Mobility X1600? I suspect it is better right?

Yeah it kicks it right square in the ass mate. I haven't even had a chance to clock the 7600 yet either, but I can only imagine how much better it will perform with the extra clocks. Simply an amazing video card.

Sounds cool, what are the temps like, cause I would think that with a nice cooler and a vmod it would be mad.

Couldn't tell ya, sorry. I didn't get a chance to look at the gpu temps in the small amount of time I've had to play with it so far. I would imagine that you're right about it if it had a better hsf and some vmods. Might be something to consider. :yumyum: Best part about vmodding on a card like this is that it's inexpensive, so if for some reason you f something up beyond repair it doesnt break the bank to have it replaced.

True, but we generally fix stuff, my dads mobo started having a weird prob it would work with one dimm in any slot but not two. So we traced the problem down to a mosfet that was bad, and replaced it and now the board works, we also fixed his PSU. Sorry a bit off topic just saying unless it is something that we can't buy we fix it. :)

i think my 7800GTX is on its last legs tbh, expect its worth looking into getting two of these and OCing them. Only problem then would be the money it would take to get my watercooling to cope. plus two off these would be looking about £220 when i could get a 7900GT for cheaper and with an overclock im sure that would hammer two OCd 7600s

I've got two Asus 7600GT in SLI...over 11k in 3DMark05...not bad :)

@ Core 2 Duo or no? My dad gets 11272 @ 05 & 6078 @ 06.

3800+ X2 @ 250x10, 2x1GB Corsair XMS @ 251MHz, two VGA @ factory stock. 91.47 forceware.

They're 8x.xx series which kill it, you can thank Coolaler for that.

Pls explain. They ran pretty smooth to me - I expect there was some performance loss but ok apart from that

I have had a chance lately to use 7600GS in SLI, 7600GT in SLI and a 7950GT.

I loved the 7600GS because they had no fans and ran well. The 7600GTs I have converted to Passive cooling as well and are close to the 7600GS cards.

I have just won a XFX 7950GT Extreme from Bjorn3D and it is nice as well but the 7600s in Sli beat it up.

I am not into OCing too much but I would have to say the best deal is a pair of the XFX 7600GS...

I've heard good things about the GS's. In fact, truth be told the card that I started this post about was actually a 7600GTS which is kind of rare (kind of... it's out there but not many places stock it). The 7600GTS is just a 7600GS clocked up to 7600GT speeds from the factory, and can be had for a tiny bit less than the 7600GT and performs right on par. I was very pleased with that card.

I origionally bought a Pair of XFX 7600GS cards because I was building the UltraBlue comp for Ultras mod contest and I figured a SLI would look cool but had very little money.

The XFX cards were Black and really added to the look of the comp. And even though I am definately a NOOB OCer I was able to get them to over 9500 on 3Dmark05.

For $200 they were great cards and with my cooling tube ran in the upper 30to mid 40C range.
