Would it be worth it

To fire up an old p4 system and have it set to just fold?

I don't expect but maybe 1k ppd, is that possible? I also have a HD4xxx laying around that I could put in it to fold too. Would either be worth it?

i have a pentium D and IMO i don't think its worth it... at the very most i can get like 600-700 ppd :S but then again, i'm pretty new to this and i got most of my points with my laptop

lol

see what the pro have to say

Always worth it if its a rig that is on anyway,

BTW what P4 chip is it and does it overclock properly ?

I dare say that the Pentium D willn't return much. I had a Pentium D Dual Core 945 oc'ed from 3.4GHz to 3.8GHz, and still my Core 2 Duo E6300 OC'ed at 2.86GHz returns a much better PPD. Everything on the Pentium D moved so slowly that you feel it's 1GHz slower than the Core 2 Duo; from boot up, program loading, processing, folding, game loading, etc. I didn't submit or can't find a CPU-Z verification for the Pentium D 945 at 3.8GHz.

Anyways my GPU (560 Ti) pwns my CPU at folding any day, so it would be interesting to what PPD you'd get with the HD 4xxx.

I am a bit supriced where the F@H spirit has gone

if i stil had my 2x PS3's they would be on because they where on anyway....

same counts for a P4 rig IMHO.....

I have good electricity prices at my place of work which is why my score went up recently

However, I am now at home for 3 weeks so it will drop again

Expect a boost mid may again, and a few more systems running at once too - I hope....
