4ghz on that CPU ur looking at 1.55v and up

so that 212 wont be good enough and DEFFO not the stock cooler.

look the DH14 or silver arrow

noctua: can`t buy it, not arriving to argentina

silver arrow: mmm, i would try to avoid spendind so much in a heatsink

is there any other cheaper option??

what about this zalman CNPS10X??

I have a Zalman Performa with an Enermax Magma fan on it right now (the motherboard I'm using controls DC fan rpm with voltage). I'm using Arctic Silver 5 on the heatsink and not the thing with which it came. I originally bought the Performa because it was the best heat sink that fit in the case I was using. I'd recommend the Performa since it's cheap and works well. Look around for reviews. They both seem alright. The "Quiet" version comes with an FDB fan.

EDIT: I'm running amd 965 at 3.9Ghz (19x205) cool and quiet. I haven't tried hard to get it to 4Ghz but I chose to make the system quiet since my wife is also using it for work.

I have a titan fenrir on my I7950. I lapped the base till it was completely flat (block and direct touch heatpipes) runs the cpu under prime95 after 30 min for an average of 68 degrees celcius. Full fan speed. Thats with 1.22 vcore. Used 800,1000,1500,2000 grit sandpaper with dishwash liquid and water to lap cooler. Dropped temps 7 celcius after lap with 4.0 ghz overclock. Takes a little time but Worth it on a a$40 cooler. Also I have the cooler mounted with fan pointing to bottom of case to blow air up.

you know, i have kind of problem here. because the titan fenrir cost like 118 dolars, and the silver arrow cost 149. so between those two i would go with the silver arrow. but i was trying to find a cheaper heatsink. so i think, as i am not finding a cheaper one, will wait for some time and brake the bank and go for the silver arrow. it`s the best option i think

Some put the silver arrow above the d14

212+ should do the job but you might need a faster spinning fan or 2 on it.

Use the stock cooler as an ornament for your fishbowl. Nothing is gaurunteed with overclocking so always be prepared to lose the silicoln lottery. Anything from around the £40 price bracket and upwards will surfice for that overclock.

last option before i decide myself by going with the silver arrow, what about the cooler master tx3? it`s more or less the same as the 212, but maybe... i would put them in push pull
