Worthwhile upgrade?

Was thinking about selling my 6600GT (AGP Ver) to my dad for £40, and putting that cash towards a 6800. Can anyone tell me is this is worthwhile or just a waste of money? Ive seen a POW 6800GS for £160 on ebuyer. Ive heard about unlocking the card to GT spec but ive also heard you have to lucky for all the masked units to work? Is it possible to unlock the pipelines to a full 16 or just pixel and vertex shaders? Pleade note that my 6600GT is at 550/1250 speeds and scoring 53,xxx in aquamark. Thanks

6600GT to a plain 6800 is pretty pointless unless you get one that overclocks real well tbh. what kinda budget you got?

better off waiting and saving up for a pci express system, then you will be secured for future upgrades for many years to come.

Agreed I wouldn't have said thats a worthwhile upgrade.

Save and either go PCI-E....or get a 7800GS. That WOULD be a worthwhile upgrade

have to agree there would be no gain going from a agp 6800gt to a 6800

i know this for a fact as HEXUS|odc has a 6800gt agp and i had a 6800gt pci-e and they were the same and the 6800 is worse
