I'd have to agree... The best bang for your buck right now is the 6800 series. If you want to go all out with a single card, there's simply no better option than the ATi X850XT PE which can do the same thing as 2 6800's in SLI.

I love my 6800 GT to death and currently see absolutely no need to upgrade to a more powerful card at this point in time. When I do my next major upgrade I'm likely to switch over to a $700+ ATi card to stick on my single PCI-E mobo to keep up with all of the SLi'ers :)

Thanks for the feedback mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Which reminds me...this and the ATI one really need an update. Another job for the holidays :)

my pleasure mate, I'm glad you found it an informative read. My holidays are almost over and I still haven't had a chance to get it updated. That's a job for next week :)

Very Informative

Having not delved into the hardware for a number of years now and with so many changes, I found the article very useful. Thanks for taking the time to put together.

Awesome guide.I am fairly a beginner in this field.Wasnt bothered to check it up.Since its now all in one place i might give it a go.Thx

Just the mention of the TNT2 was enough to send me in to nostalgia mode, was surprised to realise I didn't have to sign back in !

Quality piece of narration, well done !
