Word Processing Software

Hey all,

As the title says i'm looking for a word processing program i really don't need an Office program with all of the extra stuff that comes with it.

The only thing that it need to be able to do is to read document files in landscape mode some of my files are in landscape mode. not really looking for online ones.

Tbh, open office? I know you don't want the extra stuff, but.. you're not going to get much better than that, I think you can choose to not install the other stuff in the suite.

Strange issue with openoffice is the install folder, it will install fine once i delete that folder it will come back as a ghost folder, Also the other problem i have with openoffice it's why too big for a install size, When i have installed openoffice i normally don't install the extra stuff but it's still way to be for my liking.

I have found 4 other ones tho.

AbiWord, Atlantis Word Processor, Lyx & GNU TeXmacs but i know nothing about them.

LibreOffice is solid too, not sure about the landscape thing though.

Yeah i'm using LibreOffice atm and the install size is way too big for my liking i don't use the spreadsheets and the other stuff that goes along with it.

What about just using WordPad? Notepad++ could be another option I guess.

The problem with Wordpad it doesn't do Landscape mode, I use Notepad++ i haven't found a landscape in the settings.

You don't have a landscape option under File -> Page Setup in Wordpad?

Yep found it, but when i open a file that is in landscape mode it gives me an error type message.

"WordPad does not support all of the features of this document's format. Some content might be missing or displayed improperly." That is what it said when i open a document in landscape mode.

with WordPad it doesn't remember that it's a landscape document, i have to manually change it everytime i open the file.

Well atm i'm using LibreOffice and it's like 1GB install size to me that is bloat, plus i'm only using a 120GB SSD atm. Just don't want to make my SSD having too much install making the Used space higher than it should be.
