Its quite nice acutally.

But on the stupid side of questions:
this doenst work outside your local network, does it?

Is there any other app with a functinality to start it from literally anywhere?

I gave it a try, so far only shutdown and restart works. Wake on Lan is not working for me. I enabled it in the bios and installed the windows application for it, which does not launch at start.

It takes a few minutes to connect to the server, it does not launch right away. If my method did not work try this.

Under NIC properties instead of clicking power management click the advanced tab. In the list find "Wake on Magic Packet" and make sure it is enabled. And "Wake on Pattern" is enabled.

Tried the method you suggested and it works but when i put the pc to sleep and wake it up and go in to desktop, the pc logs off and shuts down. Hibernate works fine.

Its definitely useful though, i've already used a few time today and will do for a long time, now to install this on my iMac :lol:

Yea the iShutdown team is aware of the problem with the sleep function. But also remember this is not the only app that will do this. That problem is related to the application you installed on the PC, there are other apps that will do the same WoL function.
