Not too sure about users in general, way I see it, the regular support still dies in 2k9. "Extended" support reaches into 2014 - that`s gotta be on a business basis.

Wonder if they`ll keep the activation support going that long. I know when I called for Vista, it`s reply for the type in code was "Your Win XP code is..."

does it even really matter if they stopped support?,you could still install and use it,for some/most users anyway it should not be a problem but i guess its still good news and hardly suprising

theres still more users that have xp than vista im sure,and until that changes or they release another better os they will keep supporting xp because its performance wise the better os,vista too much of a resource whore,but 2009-2014 may well be the end of support,we'll see...

I find the performance in Vista 64 with 4GB of ram to be alot better than XP.

xp x64 is poor in terms of drivers and stuff like that

vista x64 is pretty much the only mainstream choice without going down the path of server (which has its own compatability issues)
