Makes sense. Older software had too be more efficient as we had less brute processing power. As time goes on and more and more features get added as standard it consumes resources, with that being said there's no excuse for windows 11 losing to Windows 8.1 which isn't that old in the grand scheme of things..

To this day I still maintain Windows 8 was unfairly treated by the vast majority of people and is actually a great OS. I know Microsoft didn't do themselves any favors with the UI, but as soon as you adjusted to it, everything just clicked.
I used both 7, 8, and 8.1 extensively and I found 8.1 was the better performer all round compared to 7.
