Hi guys,

So I dont know if everyone already knows this, but MS has a sort of AI assistant coming for windows 8.1, sadly not available until 2015 in AU however the US should already be getting it.

Anyways could this be the start of a interact-able OS, where the user can actually communicate with the PC as if it were alive :crazy:?

Makes me remember Jarvas from Iron man lol

let the speculation begin!

If I can turn it off by installing something (much like how Windows 8.1 and start8 works) then I don't care tbh. 8.1 is fine if you don't make it look like 8. Less gimmick more OS plz.

haha, thats why ya have ur linux for. I dunno I guess I may be a bit childish, but I really like the idea of having an AI as that is capable of becoming a bridge between the user and OS.

Isn't that going to be Cortana ? I installed the windows 8.1 dev update for my Lumia last week, and have changed the region to US for Cortana, up till now, what I've tried it is pretty cool. I like the text feature, you can completely choose what to do by either saying ignore, or read it, and of she goes, from there you can even delete the message, it's handy if I'm in the middle of shooting a grunt.

I just wish if you needed to use her to dial a number to call you didn't have to pick your phone up to press the listen button. It would be handy if she was always on. Plus with heaving the region changed, if you want to buy an app, or game, you have to re-set the region to UK, and reboot the phone.

Interesting concept, at least I'll have something to shout at other than the screen.. mind you I'm not looking forward to the system responding. I know win 7 already has voice recognition anyway which is quite fun to set up and use.

Anyone see the video where the guy asked Cortana if she loved him, was laughing so hard almost dropped my SGN3. Though I wonder what kind of toll this would have on the hardware side of things, especially the battery.

Just reminded me of that old "Eliza" program on C64...
