I'm not touching anything MS send out there till I have a nice retail box sitting on my shelf and a lot of users saying the retail version is stable

Nothing is ever really 100% stable, and with ever more complicated operating systems that do much more then you need them to and much more then you want them to it's difficult to be sure of what might happen next.

It's about balance. And Microsoft (The Good MS or The Bad MS, pick one) is perhaps one of the few companies that can produce something that is balanced in that respect.

Truth is the world is afraid of change and every new OS gets the cold treatment. But this feeling passes after some time.

The problem with the world today is that the idiots in the marketing division outnumber the poor *******s in the r&d department, the idiots get the big bucks and the pad on their backs and the poor *******s get leftovers. Somewhere along the line "The Idea" gets orphaned and becomes "The Product", it gets new parents and they are the idiot kind.

There was a time when Quality had substance, now Quality is just a tag line from the idiot sales guy.

I'm quite aware of that mate, but I'm just not getting a new OS until it's hit the shelves and I see some reviews at least saying all is fairly well.

I'm pretty happy with Vista at the moment, i don't have any issues and it's responsive and easy to use. If I didn't play the occassional game I'd go Linux, but I do and gaming on Linux still isn't up to par.
