Windows 7 network strangeee problem (Solved now)
Hey guys,
I really need your help as I am lost.
I upgraded my router from a Netgear to a Linksys, it works great on Wifi on my Laptop and on my main PC (wired).
My main PC has two HDDs one for my dad and one for me. Both have Windows 7 64 bit installed. One Windows only ever runs at once.
I use Static IP's.
Router 192.168.1.1
Main PC 192.168.1.2
Laptop 192.168.1.3
Now this worked on the Netgear router fine, no problems.
The problem I am having is that on my copy of Windows 7 on my HDD I can not get the internet to work. I can connect to the router settings and that is it. I can't even connect to websites by IP such as Google.
I have tried the latest Windows 7 network card drivers, "upgrading" Windows 7 again. All the settings are set correctly in the IPV4 box. I even tried rolling back the network card drivers before updating them.
I have tried network diagnostics but with no luck, just says "no problem can be found".
If I run ipconfig all settings are correct...
I just get a yellow triangle in the network device in system tray.
Any ideas guys?
Thanks,
Laurence
