And even if it is on Mac, Mac's don't have enough powerful hardware in terms of GPU.

Processing is fine, RAM is fine, but no 'Latest' GPUs run on it. Well not that I know of.

I mean in terms of mainstream stuff with the support that comes with it. Theres a reason why millions of offices use an MS OS rather than MAC possibly due to cost? Or maybe cause everyone else has it so for doing mainstream stuff with support (arent most IT courses MS only pretty much anyway?)

World of warcraft? Pff tried it and hated it. By gaming I mean more than one game (i dont know how some1 can play only 1 game for so long), i presume the majority of gamers...by gaming mean playing more than one game

now the software i wanna use isnt

a) going to run on a free os like linux (most linux distros)

b) isnt on a mac (mac software costs more anyway dont it)

If u think in terms of running directx stuff on a stock-mac and a pc, the pc will be the victor.

U do have to understand tho that other operating systems don't use directx and don't necessarily need the same hardware to achieve the same things.

My Mac has a q9450 @ 3g, 4g ddr2, 8800GT, last thing I played on it was Spore. My GTX280 works in there also, but hey I use that to play games on

hehe there aint any so-called about it, it runs faster than any Mac u might want to buy (I'm on it now, and with the supplied Apple logo sticker stuck on it - it's legit) I purchased the 9450 in the states with my $2 to the pound advantage shame about the pound today >.<

Plenty of research. But I like that sorta thing. A few trials of messing about, and now I know how to, I can do it as easy as installing... windows. *cough* AMD too

As said before, everything and everyone has issues. macs, windows and linux. If you think people don't dump a load of cash of macs you must be taking something!! (and yes i dont mean the illegal "hackintoshs"). It's a well know fact that macs are expensive (hence why most people were hoping for a reduction to be announced at this years macworld)

It's clear as daylight that over the last few posts you have shown your undying affection for macs, Exactly how is this different to those people who you so dearly hate that show so much affection for windows?

I clearly do not understand people, just becuase they find an OS that suits them it must be better than any other! Why cant people understand that we all have different desires, if we were all the same the world would be so boring!

What if i cant afford a console? What if i dont like using a controller and prefer using a mouse and keyboard? What about my requirements? What about my desires? what about my idea of fun?

Do i have to just not game because i cant afford it and i have to buy a mac because people say there better! No i buy what suits me best, even if its a mac, linux OS or Windows.

Be pretty clear that I had an undying affection for Macs if I'd bought one and didn't understand that they have flaws also. But the big difference here I think is that as I understand it has flaws and don`t get all teary if some1 points them out. The biggest flaw for me is the amount of cash u immediately lay out for the machine, from that point on tho the up-keep isn't the same.

To promote something other than something some1 else has an undying affection for doesn't necessarily mean ur in the same boat as them for the contrary.

I quite agree that u get what u want to suit ur desires, I would say anything less, and would pitty the fool who would go along with what other people said that they should do.

There's about 4 different settings for the fetch.

20 years ago the Amiga OS was multi-tasking with thousands/millions of colors. Using different cpus for different tasks.

But hey, if we think about just windows, I think u could use 256 colors.

err try 32, 64 or 4096 HAM Mode (Interlaced not suitable for PAL)...from a pallette of 64K, so not exactly thousands and millions. anyway the arguement is pointless. You make a decision on what you want, I want reasonable stability, Media Capability (Including Bluray, HDDVD, DTS-HD), Freesat HD, play games, something my mrs can use with minimum of fuss, and something im not tinkering with 24/7 as I do that for a job, so my choice OS is Vista, but its no labour of love its practicality, I understand some fanboys points however I choose out of practicality and if another OS comes about that can do all that with the minimum of fuss I will always give it a go. Until then I'm sticking with Vista. Its not love its just clear decision making, at least I have the practical know how to strip it back somewhat to boost performance. Anyway everyones gone way off topic and its becoming a flame war. So im unsubscribing from my own thread. And objectifying women by comparing them to an OS, its wrong on so many levels and just shows that your technical knowhow might be legendary, but your people skills need really looking at.

The chick ana-logy ? Jeez, if u can't point out faults in something for some1 to either accept or think of them as something sem-major without wigging-out, u gotta compare it to something. I s'pose I could have used cars or summit. Which level to reach to draw similarities ?

With an Amiga u can change the palette every 3 modules of a single scan line using the blitter. Giving u multiple palettes on the screen. If u use interupts also, u can manipulate it further.

The Amiga, intuition, and 68k programming I DO have an undying affection with. If u play by the rules, u can stick to the colors that u suggested on a 1000 or 500. I'd never use hold and modify myself as I found it annoying (besides wanting to use the bitplane for a color depth).

U can also use retargetable graphics if u wish to stay on a workbench, although that's cheating cos u then use all the pc can use. Or stick with a lovely BlizzardVision card, just like my A1200ppc603e.

Failing that ofc, these days u can install an ATI pci card in them - how many colors do u want now ? U can install Linux and Mac OS ..9 (or 8 maybe) to. Windows 3.1, but I digress.

To understand my nature, I will post absolutely ANYTHING to get people to think about what they post, before they post it. I know people don't to any great degree, and I know what kind of people post in certain ways.
