Windows 10 update

Evening all,
Right..... Windows 10 update is driving mental at the moment. So I'm on build 10240 and the dam thing will not update. So I have on the update screen update to 1151 restart required. My options are schedule a restart or restart now. When I restart either way nothing happens. I am running out of ideas. Media creation tool does nothing, reset windows, even gone as far as wiping the dam thing, reinstalling w7 and updating but nothing works. Tried the tool from Microsoft for fixing update issues but it comes up with no issues. Just on my 3Rd reset installed nothing so far but what do I try next if this ( and it probably won't) doesn't work?

Try a fresh install, restarting windows isn't as effective. In the handful of pcs I've updated and did fresh installs on, never had a problem.

I have tried that already but I think that if this fails again then I'm just going to go back to win 7 :(. I'm not a massive fan of the way 10 handles anyway. Just this has now been doing my head in for several months. I would ignore it if the pc didn't keep restating itself to do this update that it refuses to do.

turn off the windows update service. Go to C/Windows rename softwaredistribution to softwaredistributionold and then restart the service or restart your pc. That should fix most of the windows update problems

A fresh install from a ISO? Not from after updating? That's the only way you can do a fresh install.

If you already did that, then do what was suggested above or completely disable windows update from a tool like UWT4.
Customize W10 more to your liking if you don't like how it is:)
