Mine worked perfectly, might be because I'm not using OEM version as it's stated thats the version with problems.

I had a problem with this and had to do a repair or as windows puts it an upgrade! had to remove creative software and also re-install punk buster as MOH and battlefield kept booting me because my punk buster was corrupt, even after manually downloading updates!!!

I have just updated to SP1, and although I was having issues to start with (I had Error - 80070005) I restarted my PC and it updated fine...... everything seems to be ok now

I have seen a few other people posting about having problems installing SP1 at a few other places, most of them had problems installing it through Windows updates, including myself. If you haven't installed it yet and are planning to it's best to download the .iso or the .exe and run that rather than installing through Windows updates.

Back up your shizzle before you do any major updates. And be sure you got the auto-updates things OFF - do them in your own time, not theirs. Letting it/them download the files ONLY can be handy tho.

Don't rely on Microsoft/Apple to get it right for every occassion and situation.

Many of the "Click Here If You Agree" things will say about turning off your AV and other such crap - but I wouldn't mind betting hardly anyone reads them or does it. (I don't

This is why I never jump on the SP update bandwagon when MS makes the release; at least not for a few months, and again proved right. But then I"m also used to my old days of trying to push Winderz to the max, and usually causing an unrecoverable error. I don't even bother with winderz' back-up any more since its less aggravating and more trusted to just reinstall Winderz itself. If you've got your drivers and files backedup to disc its about 2 to 3 hours tops and a fresh install to boot... a win win w/ tiger's blood in my book.

Just updated my backup pc (7 ultimate) yesterday (sp1) and so far touch wood, no problems.

im having the same fun and games, my live mail wont open nor will itunes even when i re install it. think i will have to do a restore and then turn my updates off, not how i wanted to spend my bank holiday
