Will these parts all fit/work together?

Folks,

I am ordering these parts on Monday. Will they all fit together? I'm not expert at which memory or graphics card goes in which board, hence the question.

I will be using it mostly for Video Editing and VMware (hence the fast CPU, board and memory).

Well only in the sense that u`ve gone for 2 DVDRW, and also they`re different models.

Could pose the same thing with the harddrives.

The ASUS iX48 seems pretty pricey (I don`t know ASUS too well) and a 9600GT card for £90, whereas a 9800GTX is around £120 maybe. Then there`s the ATI camp.

8G too.. u going to be able to utilize that with the OS & software ?

Hi Rasta,

I will be using Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit, so the 8GB will be used by VMware and also my Video Editing.

Yes, the Rampage board is very expensive, although fantastic in reviews! A point which Lamboman has made very well. Which boards do you reccomend?

As for the 3 HD's, here is the plan:

2 x mirrored Seagate 500GB's for OS, Pagefile and my installed Apps

1 x WD 500GB for my .exe CD's which can be mirrored with my existing WD 500GB drive

I'm not sure I would utilise the more expensive graphics card. WHat I am most interested in with the graphics, is that my picture must look very sharp and have well balanced colours.

That`s fine, u`ve obviously looked into what u want to do and what will do the job.

With an X48 chipset I'd go with an ATI card, especially as they are far better value for money.

It`s what I`m thinking, a great X48 board, with good xfire abilities and u`ve gotta kick some serious rear. Of course u could get a single x2 and buy another later or something for quad setup ?
