Already posted this on some other forums but thought i would post this on the other side of the ocean
Normally i dont like to copy and paste from another forum but this time i felt it was needed in case anyone here on overclock3d was not aware and bought a B3 expecting it to be better then it turns out to be

Getting straight to the point and why you should not buy an EVGA SuperNova B3 and the reason why is it seems like the over power protection on the B3 series does not work as not one but TWO samples has failed to have its over power protection kick in and thus the PSU fried in the case of the 450 watt and in the case of the 850 watt it can no longer power on

There has been no clarification or statement from EVGA or Super Flower about this issue so until there is or even IF there is you should not buy a SuperNova B3
Unless you dont care about over power protection

Well well well the plot thickens and i now have an answer for why the samples OklahomaWolf from Jonnyguru got seemed so much better then the ones Aris from Tomshardware got
The answer to that question is OklahomaWolf received a press kit B3 made by Super Flower where Aris went out to a store and bought an off the shelf example and those are made by RSY which is a subcontractor
So in short EVGA sent a sample to OklahomaWolf better then the ones you find in a store so thats why it passed his testing unlike Aris which got an example exactly like all the rest of us consumers would get
This is about the most strange thing i have heard about in years if it really is true and is probably why EVGA has not made any statements

One thing i should clarify is the fact that the B3 is made up of two different platforms so there is a difference between the 450/550/650 and the higher 750 and 850 watts

The lower wattage units are of a somewhat lower quality which is why the 450 watt tested by tomshardware fried itself and the 850 watt tested by tomshardware just died
