Hello again.

right, when i go on hardware manager to check if all my drivers etc are working, i notice somthing. under the processors tab, It says i have 2 pentium 4's.

which is odd, seeign as i have a single core prescott p4e. also, it says hyperthreading is available but disabled. when i run the hyperthreadign test from intels website, it says it cant examien the hardware. and yes, my board does suppord HT.

any answers to this mad, gnarly problem?

HT = 2 vertual cpus. Thats why it shows as 2 in DM.

My geuss is it will detect it as two cpus whether HT is enables or not. Afaik its part of the hardware/chipset.

Frag beat me there:(

Multiple processor drivers being listed in there isn`t anything to worry about, if u don`t have 2, it just happens that a driver for the processor is installed without the complete removal of the other.

EDIT: I`ll get my coat.

yay!

hehe, thanks, i'm very n00bish with intel cpu's:(

you were right HT is enabled, just intels prog is a bag of crap. I'm extremely pleased with this cpu, its handling games a hell of a lot better than my celly d, and for only 30 quid more :)

My only problem now is that my 9600xt's default gpu clock is 325 (9600 pro level) rather than the tasty 500 its sposed to be. i wondered if maybe someone (ionicle hehe) loaded the wrong bios on? it is a 9600xt because its got the model number printed on it and it uses the rv360 core.

think its worth flashing , or should i just adjust core manually with atitool/omega drivers?

ha ha don't worry, ATI's old battered servile hound is soon to be laid to rest in the scrap heap, being replaced by a 7600gs:)

what can i say, im on a major budget. just ran futuremark games adviser and my cpu's performance at 3.5ghz is equal to 4.50, don't know how they work that out. amazingly, with my crappy vid card i still scored better than 66% of other pc's :D what can i say, apart from that i'm very happy, and i can't wait for 7 series budget ownage to unleashed, muhahah:yumyum:
