Why can't we have a standard for front panel switches and indicators????

I find it 100% completely ridiculous that we don't have a standard for this yet. If you haven't caught on to what I'm talking about yet I'm referring to the area of the mobo where you connect all of your case switches (power, reset, etc) and indicator lights. It seems like it would be just too easy to have everyone conform to one simple standard that integrated all of the cables in to one single connector. And for backwards compatibiliy reasons case manufacturers could just include an extension cable that would break out all of the wires individually how it's setup now.

You know you hate fumbling with those god damn little wires in the most awkward part of the case. It's the one thing I dread the most when working on a computer that's tight on space.

Online petition time!

I agree %100, that part took the most time for me to do, it's no fun to do that not at all! It'd be so convenient to just plug one thing in and know it'll work. It's not as bad when it's color coded but still it's an unnecessary PitA

It's not meant to be serious :p There's no possible way that even a "serious" online petition is going to do anything. We're talking about a complete market change, that would require too much effort on these lazy SOB companies parts.

Truee but my story was hella convincing?

Signed! I hate it too, really fiddly wires - becomes so akward when you have a smallish case like mine.

It would be cool to have a connection similar to the 24pin atx one.

Anything at all would be better than what we have now. Its nice to see asus trying to make it easier on us with their little adapter things.

They drive me nuts, the worst are the damn fire wire, they have like 9 different wires that you have to hold together in the right positions and plug in and if you screw it up you probably blow everything.

Was gonna say that, when I got the p5b-d i was pleasantly surprised, especially as it was my 1st build lol

Also how about a standard on how to connect case USB, 1394, and headphone mic ports. I get a bunch of individual pin wires, nearly impossible to get them in the right order and harder to get them to stay there  How about something simple like mini-USB?

In all the cases i@ve used for the last two years I've had standard connectors on them
