Who makes the best fan?

Akasa apache is silent, even at 100% at 1300rpm.High airflow and high pressure,so silent you have to look and feel for yourself even if they are runnnig 100%.

Scythe for me, I've used so many makes of fan's i see alot of people like Noctua but i used NF-P12's in my system and rad and they wasn't really all that amazing, Thease GT-AP-15's ive got in now make them look like garbage..

Im suprized only one person has mentiond the Akasa Apache fans and are all on Noctua...

Dont be fooled by marketing and 'the trend' . Ino OC3D support Noctua and its become 'the standard' that Noctua are the best quiet fans you can get just because its popular but I have actually been to my local shop yesturday that my friend manages and he allowed me to test them side by side with the Akasa Apache fans and various speeds, and the Apache's litrelly blew them away [lol]

Both fans are extremeley quiet, the only real noise from either is just air passing through, although I was suprized that the Apache fans were actually more quiet than the Nocuta fans [both models] but the big difference was how much air they moved... litrelly a 3rd or more than the Noctuas at the same noise level.. and at full speed allot, a big difference, and they are still more or less the same quietness than the Noctua's maybe slightly louder but pushing a ton more air [both the square shaped Noctua, which is very quiet but pushes hardly any air compared. And the Circle shaped Noctua, which pushes slightly more air but is noticible louder, and still not on the level of air flow as the Apache's]

Yet Noctua's are very expensive and are £5 more than the Apache's. Apache's are more quiet and push a coniserable amount more air at the same 'loudness'. TRhere was some circumstances that the Noctua would be slightly more quiet but be pushing hardly any air compared, then jus turn down the Apache fan and it would be the same loudness but push allot more air.

I did a good bit of experimenting and I see that Noctua's are good fans but compared to the Apache's are no match. It seems Noctuas are like I said 'trendy' popular and expensive with good marketing so people jump to the conclusions that they are automaticly the best quiet fans.

My friend also said theat the BeQuiet! Fans are better than the Noctua's for both silence and airflow and rival the Apache's

Im also starting to think that the D-14 cooler although apparently extremely good and the best around to be in similar circumstances with the Noctua fans [although very good and 1 of the best kind of slighlty overhyped by marketing and popularity]. I have seen a good few comparisons with the Noctua-D14 vs the similar Thermalmaster Silver Arrow where the Silver Arrow won or came on par [although only just by a very small margine but didnt lose atall]

While like I said I know OC3D support Noctua [like they do Bitenix] and TTL's comparison of the D-14 and the Silver Arrow in all honestly I think was biasd for the D-14.

From anyone I know who has compared and other comparisons I have seen the Silver Arrow is either the same on par with the D-14 or very slightly better, but not worse like in TTL's video.

I love TTL's video's and I think are much better than for example Linus Tech Tips who is just marketing all the products and never has anything bad to say about them or to go in depth.

But I do think in circumstances with Noctua and Bitfenix he can be biasd for advertise revenue and it definatly works with how many people have bought and love Noctua fans and the D-14 on this forum based on big hype and belittle of its competitors from TTL and dont even think about looking for example the Silver Arrow based on being a TTL fan.

i had 6x AASS fans on my olde rig setup... 2 on push/pull on my old coolit vantage... and 4 in the case.

i wasn't too fussed on the colour of them, but they did the job EXCELLENTLY.

i have not thrown them away.... they will be going in my next build on a 360rad and/or a 480rad (push/pull)

bits are slowly mounting up

i am just shy of the dual-full-BD server-mobo (amd SR-2 equivalent), or the next SR-3 (depending on which is better), and the chips to go on them

it's gonna be a monsta

1). linus does unboxings and comparisons in no way shape or form does he do reviews

2). ttl always takes the mick out of thermalbreak and their adverts are on here...

Correct me if Im wrong but in no way shape or form did I say Linus does reviews............

I just said I perfer TTL's video'sas he goes in depth with his opininion to for an example Linus who just markets products for the company he works for and hardly ever has anything bad to say about any them atall.

Like I said apart from when TTL is reviewing or indeed 'unboxing' and comparing Noctua or Bitfenix products he is firmly biasd

I've used many diff kinds of fans but I most recently got 6 Aerocool Shark Fans (white LED edition) and the fans looks amazing, the blades are too awesome for words and they tie in nicely with my black/white rig.

At the full 12v these bad boys are Loooooud!... but running at 7v you can't hear them and they push so much air its unbelievable but I don't recommend filling your rig with them unless undervolting or on a fan controller cos all them fans running at 12v really does become irritating lol + they are quite expensive. My current rig has 6 and only the front and rear are at 12V, the rest run at 7v and tbh its pretty quiet with that setup

There's not a lot of info around for these fans in the UK ... well I don't think there is anyways and tbh the real reasons behind me getting them over the typical choices were

1. I wanted white fans with white blades, white leds and these things appeared

2. I won some money so thought I'd treat myself and spend it on some expensive pc shizlle

Im happy with them for now but I am ever so tempted to rip the LED's out cos those blades would stand out so much better without the glow + I'd preffer a more suttle looking rig lol

I've heard some good things about the BeQuiet brand, but I'm guessing they don't get used that much.

Yeh, apparently they are extremely quiet but push allot of air like the apache's, but slightly less than the apaches. Im goingto experiment with them tomorrow to see which ones im getting Although I really like the apache's any way as they match my setup and I cant see the Bequiet fans beeting them but coming close second [for noise to airflow]

Noctua's dont even come close, they are quiet but push hardly any air compared to Apache's at the same loudness, tbh I think they are pretty rubbish, overpriced and overhyped.

I would only get them for a rig that you want poor airflow in, even then I would get the Apache's that are 2/3's of the price cheaper and have allot more airlfow and still be silent, no brainer.

I think its all about propaganda, marketing and popularity that make people miss things and be dead set on one product due to being close minded.

The apaches are probably your best bet

Every company who makes fans make suitable ones (well, apart from the Bitfenix Spectres, as four of them were out of alignment and I gave up in the end.. Maybe those new ones are better?)

When buying a fan take a look at the science. IE - the RPM, the DB and the CFM. Those are what are important.

Build quality? 90% of them are the same. So basically you buy expensive fans if you want to wave your willy. Sure, some fans are of a higher standard, but by the time they would even begin to break you would have changed them long ago as that's what people tend to do.

So all of the pretty colours, braided cables and so on are all a waste of time unless you want them for looks. But of course, it's not looks that are important. It's finding the right fan for the right application.

CM cases has some decent fans installed.A little noisy, but air is shifted.

TT casefans i find,is a joke.Noisy, wobly and almost no air pushing through.

Maybe Fractal has some of the best stock casefans,im very pleased with them, and had no reason to replace them in my arc midi.

Akasa apache fans is some of the best fans i have ever bought.Almost silent, good airflow and a nice quality feeling to them.

But there is so manny good fans out there, its at your own taste and what you like.
