Yeah.... I went all out, I spent probably close to $3k USD for a whole new system.. New case, new psu, new board, new cpu, new ram, new hdd's, new gpu.... lol
I came from a 3.2ghz 1mbCache Socket 478 PIV Northwood and 1gb DDR400 and a radeon 9600XT 8xAGP to.. what is in my signature lol.
the case was about $150, the mobo $250, the cpu $260, the ram ... well, too much lol (400+), the gpu 250, the 4x320gb Seagate barracuda's were $94 each, the psu 170... for now I think the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro will do well, if not at least probably a lot better than the stock intel conroe boxed cooler..
I figure from what I am coming from to this new thing, I will be good to go for at least 3 if not maybe even four years, (w/ the cpu, hdd's, ram, and mobo anyway, obviously not on graphics)
I did a lot of research, and in my own opinion, and even those of many reviewers, on various hardware sites, I don't believe AMD has really done much to impress gamers, and enthusiasts w/ their "new AM2" platform.. as far as I am concerned, for now, the intel Conroe line is obviously the clear winner when it comes to price to performance ratio, not to mention how well these chips seem to overclock from many articles I've read online..
Personally I care little for Intel, I've used many AMD's in the past, my previous P4 Northwood was given to me, and performed much better than the XP 2100+ I had prior to it, so of course I took it

I'm all about supporting the little guy, so long as they put out, but in the time being, AMD has not really put out much, besides new and much lower prices on their cpu's.
