Sadly i cant keep the Music or i would. Its my friends and he decided he wanted to get me something else for the video card i gave him.

I'm kinda tensed up right now for unrelated issues but if you're buying a new card why not get the music? I'm sure you can find it on ebay or something...

Actually, tbh, I'd say get an auzentech because Creative is an

xtreme music is the best man dont downgrade to a gamer

I dont exactly remember why, but there was a reason I chose the music over the gamer and it definitely had to do with the quality

I swear the Music is the cheapest of the X-FIs.

No, XtremeAudio is. XtremeGamer replaced the XtremeMusic but the XtremeMusic was, and is a better card. Creative was probably losing money on the XtremeMusic. Think about it, it was basically a Fatal1ty/Platinum with only 16MB of XRAM versus 64MB.

No, XtremeAudio is.
This isnt technicaly an X-Fi though ;) Its what we call an Nvidia special, an Audigy rehash lulz.

No worries dude its cool. We all have those days. Im still hoping i can wind up with a Fatal1ty Titanium on PCI-E :) But i doubt that will happen. I found some cheap Xtreme Musics on Ebay that i MIGHT be able to con somebody into purchasing for me and ill give them cash. Unfortunately i dont think any of my friends are that cool.

Who really uses that anyways? I just wish it came with the gold in the back. I honestly dont care for the low profile cards cause i put my sound card on the bottom PCI slot and my wifi ontop of that. The wifi is larger than the low pro cards so its a pita to get them out or in :/

Ill be going to Frys on thursday hopefully and if not then on saturday. If i buy one of these (crosses fingers) ill tell you guys how it is.

Only professionals really. Our radio editing pcs have a breakout from them.

Don`t think any1 uses game port joypads anymore or midi samplers.

I`d seriously search Auzen for an option too m8, don`t know their full range myself.

The XtremeMusic seems a lot better than the XtremeGamer, but if you don't need support for the front panel drive bay (livedrive etc) or the midi/game port (I think a lot of midi keyboards use this still) then just go for the XtremeGamer.

I thought the XtremeMusic was yours already, but if you have to buy a new card & only really need the features of the XtremeGamer get one of those I guess :)

I think both the XtremeMusic and XtremeGamer are very similar in price tho.

I personally would try to get a XtremeMusic :(

Altho saying that, I'm still on a Audigy2 :)

Yea well when i originaly posted it WAS mine. Then my friend decided he was gonna be lame and make excuses to get his card back. So whenever he shows up ill have to get my Live! 24bit back. A buddy on another forum showed me the greatness of pre-paid credit cards. Im gonna try and get one of these and hopefully get either a Music or Gamer from Newegg/Ebay. (Found a Music for 40 bucks buy now on the Bay)

Damn so the XtemeMusic is still the best not extreme costing sound card...

I paid $100 something for it last year new @ buy.com, if you get it for $40...go for it man

Good luck

Ive decided against buying an X-Fi. After switching to Vista for DX10 the X-Fi was fine for a while but then started screwin up on me. At first i thought it was my video card cause it would make the video driver crash but as soon as i took it out everything was fine.

If you have XP x64 DO NOT BUY X-FI Titanium Fatl1ty PCIe!!

I tried 7 fresh installs of XP x64 to get the bugger working. Its "compatible" meaning it won't explode, what it actually does is totally bork any 3D render through DirectX or OpenGL so you obtain a strobing effect. The sound using iTunes was lovely but all games were screwed. Re-installed my "on-board" PCIe soundcard and its fine again.

DO NOT BUY X-FI Titanium Fatl1ty PCIe if you have XP x64!!!

On Creative's website it states no support but compatibility is fine. Compatibility with Generic drivers but there are NO XP x64 drivers.

I do not want to see anyone have this problem like I have had.

Yeah, tell me about it. Sound drivers for 64bit for almost sound option, extremely including creative and realtek, are a real pita. My Auzen is working ok, but I`m facing a 32bit change for the media pc when I get round to it.

Got the latest drivers for 64bit (well they have them in the name) - creative beta.. and well the sound comes out the speakers, just don`t try doing anything "creative" with ur stuff.

U tried using the spdif input ? It works, but doesn`t output to speakers  So u can see the bars going up and down, but dont get to hear anything.

If u upmix a stereo input to 5.1 speakers, it either won`t work or go metalic.

I'm using my audigy2 on x64 without any problems :) works & sounds a lot better than my realtek onboard audio.

I havent had these problems cause the only time i use the SPDIF out is on our 5.1 in the living room to watch movies. The last time i actualy did this was when i was using x64 Vista Ultimate and it worked without a hitch.

I'm using my X-Fi XtremeGamer in Vista64. No problems as of yet except a few glitched noises. According to a quick search on google, this happens to quite a lot of people and apparently the Crystalliser (or some other feature) causes the sounds to be amplified, creating loud screeching noises in replacement of the sounds' Windows makes. Its my fault for not disabling the Crystalliser during general browsing.

I ve had 3 x faulty X-fi in the past month.I am not giving up yet:nono:Wonder how many more i need to buy until i get a chance to experience it
