i need a 120/128gb SSD do i go for.....

120gb Mushkin Chronos
120gb Samsung 840
128gb OCZ Agility 4
128gb Crucial M4

the Mushkin looks fastest on paper, but ive never heard anything about them

I would recommend the Samsung 840, they are highly recommended by alot of people and has been said to be fastest on the market now (don't quote me, I've just heard and never seen benchmarks). I have two Mushkin Chronos Deluxe's and they are pretty fast, but the first 4 SSD's I got from them went faulty within a week of having them. (Although, the Deluxe's, that I got after the first 4 regular chronos's, has been working like a dream for the past 8 months)

Samsung are pretty decent. They have a good warranty too from what I hear.

I used to go Corsair for everything but lately they've changed their RMA policy and whilst I could put up with the price of sending things back to The Netherlands the demanding to see a receipt bit got on my nerves.

Then they accused me of damaging the drive and at first refused RMA.

It did get sorted in the end but it took over a month and a load of stress. Ramguy was, as always, absolutely fantastic but with things going the way they are it now costs over a tenner to send back to NL (thanks Royal Tossers !).

Another suggestion of the samsung. Note though that the benchmarks that show it right at the top of the pile are the ones for the 840 pro and not the base 840. Still the drive is shown to be quick, just not lightning.

Regardless, an 840 pro is finding its way to my system in the near future.

Thanks for the replies. I'd love the 840 pro but I just can't justify it. I've already got 2 crucial M4's so I think I'll give the Samsung a go. Thanks

I'd personally advise you to go for a Corsair SSD. I have a 90GB Force GT which is pretty good. My next option would be the 840 pro. For many other people it would be the other way round, but I only bought it seems I hadn't bought any sort of component from Samsung before. The crucial M4s are good considering other peoples opinions over the net. I'd say any of these three brands you'll be safe.
