Which router to choose

Ok, I know EQUK has given me some recommendations but the " ZyXEL Prestige 660HW-T1" is...not very good (not exactly jims words) according to xms. I would like some views on routers in my price range (<£50) with good wireless performance, future proofed (adsl2+ and all that) with a nice setup interface (non laggy and good for setting up ports etc.) and GOOD FOR GAMING :D and teh torrentz0rs :)

Thanks

I like my Linksys WRT54G, but there are alot newer models available now, especially with the G+ wireless.

I can`t comment on other ones as this is the only one I have had for years. Use it with cable.

There`s even an undergroundy-slant to programming & upgrading them via flashing `n stuff, but I haven`t looked too far into this yet.

The Buffalo WBMR-G54 is in the price range and seems to have a lot of features.

I use a WRT54GS (DD-WRT) for all my network firewall/routing and just use a inventel router set to DMZ to connect to ADSL.

The ZyXEL seems to have 15 awards from various review sites and has its own OS (ZyNOS), some of the remote admin stuff ZyXEL do seems pretty excellent aswell.

It also has Max DSL validation

As you only mainly use the router for gaming and downloading torrents, I'd guess you won't want to be going OTT with the configuration of the firewall and will probably mainly use uPNP, QoS & NAT.

The Netgear DG834G v3 is in the price range, but it doesn't support QoS :(
