i have heard that the GTX4xx cards get very hot... hotter than the GTX5xx series

so, as they are more-or-less on par in their other categories, i would have to go with the GTX570, for that reason

The 570, it's the newer card, it's cooler and quieter than the stock 470 and 480 (so even the aftermarket cooler is going to have more heat to keep up with), performance wise the difference is negligible.

EDIT: In reply to junglerog, I recently had to replace a GPU that came from them broken, after ringing them the first time I was told I'd be sent an RMA number which didn't arrive. Second time I phoned them though everything went swimmingly. I don't know what the problems with overclockers were before but that's my recent experience.

The 480 is a good option if you can get one cheap enough to ofset the fact its hot and noisey, the 570 performs about the same but has a better heatsink so doesn't have those issues.

The thing is that gigabyte has custom cooling and factory OC, so it will stay quiet and cool, and they cost same 239 GBP

Go for 570 and make sure you go for different seller. Overclockers customer service is terrible.

I know something about it, they refuse RMA my Asus xnonar d2x, explaining that card have only 1 year warranty, where I brought them email form asus uk stating that card have 3 years warranty,so Im forced to send it back to Asus myself. reason why I shop there is because I live 20 min away from actual shop.

If you don't plan on buying another card you could get the EVGA GTX 460 2win, its 2 gtx 460s on one card. Performs better than one gtx 580 but only cost about $380. (usd)

IF you can deal with the heat and noise go for the GTX 480, it is slightly better overall but the GTX 570 wins it for me.
