which memory for OCing?

Just wondering what you guys think of the following types of ram?

Cellshock 2gb (2x1gb) PC2-6400 V2 DDR2 CL4 - CS2221042

Or

2Gb GeIL DDR2 PC2-6400 Ultra CL4 Dual Channel kit

Or

2gb GeIL DDR2 PC2-8000 1000MHz CL4 Ultra Dual Channel kit

the geil is clocked higher (the pc2-8000)

but the cellshocks are suposed to be really good clockers, i'd forget the middle geil, and prolly get the last one, if ram starts of fast, it can only get faster

check the top overclock of the cellshocks, and the speed in MHz

then the top overclock of the Geil, and the speed in MHz, ignore the timings for now, just go for the one that can get the best speed in MHz

Not in my experience mate. The dominators refused to go much over 1066mhz.

I can only speak from my experience. I've only had a gig of 533, then a gig of corsair xms2 667, then 2gb of corsair dominator 1066, then 2gb of cellshock.

I paid through the nose for the fastest ram. It left a bitter taste in my mouth!

The cheaper kits have always OC'd much better and have cost me half the price.

The cellshocks should go to 1100mhz stable. SHOULD. They are pretty cheap @ £90. (just noticed ST are out of stock!)

The other more expensive sticks WILL do the rated 1066, 1100, whatever, possibly even 1200mhz. They just cost more.

Depends of you are bothered about the cost.

Also, fast ram does not equal a big OC, that is down to lady luck as that depends totally on your processor...

Think ill get the Cellshock, i can always offload them to a mate or my brother (considering they will be the exsact same builds )
