hi guys

ive currently got 4gb of muskin blackline running at 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 and 1.5v i need to upgrade as bf3 maxes out my ram and makes my system unresponsive for about 30 seconds after i quit. plus as ram is so cheap at the moment i might as well get more. im undecided between aria quick code 44336 or 49809 (wont post links as their to long) could i add it to my 4gb at the moment or just use the 8gb? which kit is better? will i see any difference? any help is appreciated

you should always get exactly the same brand/model of ram so the sticks match each other. You could come into issues using multiple brands together.

the links will be shortened auto, since im too lazy im not going to even search for them but you should always buy kits in the volume you want, its sometimes hard to find exact mdoel brand AND revision of ram so just buy new 8gb kit

As long as the sticks have same voltage, timings and latency you can mix them.

So as long as the extra stick you add to your system is 1600mhz 9-9-9-24 1.5v you will be fine.

Also, for shortening links, you can use the OC3D tools which is linked at the top of the page, there is a URL shortener in there.

8gb kits of ram come on ss all the time on aria mate, bet if you keep your eyes open you will find a good 4gbx2 kit in your price range

Just messed about with BF3. It wants about 3g of your system memory, this would include the OS of course. Not leaving you much overhead in a 4g system.

This is without any other programs running at-all.

yh mine ends up using about 3.94 gb of ram when im playing

it makes my pc really slow for a good couple of minutes as its still using the ram even after ive closed the program

You would also benefit from buying an SSD - if you can spend the money of course. For now, buy an 8GB of RAM and you are sorted. I had problems playing it on my PC too, so I just added 4GB and it changed my experience a lot, also loading of levels was a tad faster.
