Which is better for bf3?

So the MSI Twin FrozR II GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC 1gb should be enough if so I would rather get that one as it is £40 cheaper then the 2gb one.

You have a card with more than 1gb and BF3s engine is designed to utilize what you have. There are people playing it on three scree setups 5760x1080 and only using 1.5gb with a 680.

I have a 1gb 6850 and I play at 1080p and never use more than 900MB.

I just tested BF3 at that res. I used between 950mb and 1.12gb.

With a 7970? Yea its going to use as much as it needs/ wants too. Remember your card is 3GB and is barely using 1/3rd of it. AS many have said, I can only echo. 1GB is plenty on a single monitor, 2GB is ample for 2560x1440 and 3x 1080's.

OP just go with the 1GB model, its cheaper and it will serve you well.

You sir really do not have a clue as to how BF3 works do you?

@op,as others have said the 1GB Ti will happily serve you well on that res and will still serve you well once you upgrade your monitor(unless you go 2500x1600 or triple screen)

what app do you use to dhow the fps and mem usage. i have afterburner but is there some other thing for it i have to download to get it to show up asim interested to see how my card is being used

Afterburner is the best on the market at the moment imo.

as long as you are not using the FXAA injector(still easy, but a bit more work)

If stock:

Afterburner

settings

monitoring

select which items you want to display(big tick at the side of them) and make sure that as you select each one, that you look at the bottom and tick the OSD part.

LOL what?! I just said at 1280x1024 it uses between 950 and 1.12.

Also you clearly have never played BF3 if you think 3 2560x1600 is the only way to max the video ram. I max out my 680 with just ONE 1080p display (with NO AA)

That is because BF3 is coded to use as much VRAM as it wants/needs. Nep is right, you don't know how BF3 runs. Please, stop talking to everyone like they are dog crap on your shoe.

Ok guys I think you all should calm down a little bit because the query has already been solved, Rawrben must have got the answer by now, you guys should now leave it up to him to decide and stop bickering over BF3 vram usage.

I personally feel 560ti 1gb is enough for that resolution, unless you are planning to upgrade to a full hd monitor in the near future AND you love maxing your in-game AA.

wow!! I have already played BF3 on a 560ti and it maxes out vram at 1024 and my fps goes from a steady 60 at 760mb of RAM to 45 once I hit 1.28gb. explain this please other than lack of vram?

get the 2gb one

at least then you'll hae some head room lol

i've got the 1gb twin frozer and its great does just fine for 1080 res tho it won't run everything on max
