im looking at buying a new monitor/tv but i need your help as i dont which is going to be better for gaming please help

considering the tv is 1300 pounds... a monitor is a better option(and faster with less ghosting) but even at the 4-6ft range it really becomes pointless as the light will get more dim the greater you are from the source(this case tv) and will be very dark.

Go for a 2560x1440/1600 monitor basically 3 screens in one

A 120Hz monitor will be better for gaming than that TV. Though it has 3D capability, it does not have a true 120Hz display when you're not using it for 3D. It will also have substantially more input lag than a 120Hz monitor.

Depends on what you still want to use it for because the tv option is really only valid if you want/need the extra screen size.. which may help that you are sitting faarther away but i would suggest you get closer and be about 1-3 ft and get a bigger monitor.

Well i would buy the http://www.scan.co.uk/products/24-b...itor-hdmi-dvi-1920x1080-250cd-m2-10001-2ms-pl it has a 9.5 out of 10 on scan reviews and i love it, as i said i dont use 3d that often but i came from a 720p tv (1366x768) to a HD 1080p (1920x1080) and its much much better. Maybe someone else on the forum could weight in and also give an opinion on the best BenQ monitor

It is not that bad but i do not like it as it does flicker a bit and is a bit distracting, i just got my monitor for the 120Hz refresh rate and i got it from my dad as a xmas present.
