I would go with Evga or another major brand because if you decide to go SLI in the future you definitely wanna make sure your card is still on the market. lol... unlike me.
Get something with good cooling unless you plan on changing your cooling eventually. Mine are reference cooled. When I bought my first card, there were no third party coolers.
Zotac GTX470 Amp!, MSI N470GTX Twin Frozr II or get a reference 470 and put some aftermarket cooling like the VF300f / Gelid Icy Vision / Accelero Xtreme Plus on it
I've heard Dec 7 for a 570 release, but MSRP around $350. We can expect GTX480 performance though from what I have heard. If they MSRP at $250 I'll be pissed, but at $350, buying 470's now is a good choice if they are still as low as they have been.
so what your trying to say is the price of the gtx 470 is going down on Tuesday or should i wait for the 570 to come out and buy it im a little slow sorry not that great at reading in to stuff
Pricing has gone back up for the 470 in most places. I just checked at US resellers and the card I bought just a few weeks ago has gone back up $20. With that in mind I'd probably wait until next week if I were you and see how things pan out with the 570. Maybe it will push 470 pricing back down. Only reason I didn't wait was I already had one 470 and the prices a couple weeks ago were just too good to pass up.
If you get a 470, you'll need to fit an aftermarket cooler if you want it to run quiet under load. Me personally, if I had the money right at this moment, I would wait another pay day and put the extra towards a 570
Wait for the AMD cards then make your decision. Unless you are an nVidia fanboy and can't buy anything but. I am personally a fan of both AMD and nVidia so I will be sitting this holiday out... waiting.
Probably going to go for my next build in February. I still can't pick between Sandy Bridge or Bulldozer.
