hi i need to upgrade my pc graphics card and was wondering what anyone could advise . my limit is £90. i play games like call of duty blacks ops 2, battlefield 3 etc. at the moment i have a nvidia geforcd gt610 and get around 60fps on black ops 2. i was just wondering if you could help me by advising what type to go for.
my pc specs are:
16gb ddrr3 ram running at 1333, i3 3220 processor, p8 z77 v lx-2 asus motherboard..
Many thanks.
Amy

The 7790 sits between the 7850 and the 7770, its the entry card into the mid range. You'd honestly be better with a 650ti boost or a 7850 but they're around 30 more, you could try for a 2nd hand one.

You will be gimped by the cards in the 90 bracket due to the 1gb vram. The 7790 will give you around 60fps medium-high at 1080p in black ops 2

thats flippin crazy, the card i have at the moment only cost me £40 and its a 2gb and im currently getting 60fps. i wanted to upgrade cos it seems laggy/jumpy in game and i wanted better gameplay. it seems pointless for me to fork out £90 if it wont be any better for me :(
on the graphics card at th mo im running on all the low settings and im running on 800/600 resolution on black ops 2 and getting 60fps.

The point in having a higher price/performing card is to maintain solid fps at higher graphical settings, if you were to buy the 7790 and ran it at your current settings you would probably be hitting 120fps. Also you would see a better average fps meaning you wouldn't be hitting unplayable framerates which causes lags and stutters. The 7790 runs rings around the 610 and you will notice a huge difference.

I wouldnt even consider the 610 for any games....ever.

hence the looking for an upgrade lmao. it was good a few years when i got it lol. ive seen a Radeon HD 7790 X-Edition graphics card - 1GB GDDR5 - PCI-Express 3.0 for £90. would that be good for me to get.

I'm using an MSI 7790. TBH I was apprehensive about it only being a 1GB card but I've been pleasantly surprised with it.

Running FRAPS benchmark whilst playing BF3 campaign with those settings gave me 57fps average, minimum 48fps. I know the resolution sucks, but that's all my little old monitor is capable of doing.
