Which GPU ?

Dicehunter

Resident Newb
So within the next week I'm due a refund, 2 actually, And altogether it amounts to £900.

Now I move to Berlin at the end of June and ideally I'd like to buy a GPU while in this country mainly because I have free shipping ^_^

At the moment I'm running a 750 Ti, Backup cards FTW.

The question is, Do I wait for the 390X to see if it wipes the floor with everything Nvidia has bends Nvidia over and doesn't use lube or go for something awesomely legendary like the Titan X which will be powering 3 x 1080P IPS screens ?

Input appreciated :)

Personally I would wait as the release of the 300 series cards is nearly upon us that way you can get the real results of what the AMD cards are going to bring to the table :)

Lol dude, my 6950 does the same ... but do like me mate, even though I've gotten 290X, 970's and a 980. I'm still waiting for the 390X and presumably the 980Ti to see what they are like and foremost all of the prices.
And if lucky, the Titan X might drop a bit in price, which is a win situation.

Although, not to be a buzzkiller here... but I'm getting around £2960 from salaries and then £1400 straight down my pocket :D

Im planning on upgrading my cards to 980s soon. So ill have two smexy 780s with waterblocks or original fans to pass on to the next dedicated gamer :)

I personally would wait, from the numbers I have seen (if they are genuine, I'm taking them with pinch of salt at moment), I would wait for the 980Ti and 390x to come out as they wont be too long till they are released, theyn weigh up whether to get either one of those compared to a Titan X.

True.

Damn you rich bitch ^_^

I'd wait Dice. Even if they are equal you can get whichever top end card is cheaper and maybe get two when prices drop:)

Good point :)

I agree you need to wait Dice so you can get the best idea of performance

True, Waiting it is then.

I would also wait for the AMD launch, as of a side note then I could take that 750 Ti off you when you DO upgrade!

The 750 Ti is actually from my HTPC ergo I'm using it as a backup for my main rig :)

You going 980 Ti or 390X if they are roughly equal ?

I'm never good at the waiting game ^_^

Well it will be 980 or 980Ti for me, since I have the Swift monitor. And no issues with mine at the moment. But I can patiently wait since I like to double up on cards rather than single solution.

Same for me, I think I'll leave the red team for the green team. Due to better power consumtion and G-Sync.

Well in your case, its better to wait and find out which is best since you have neither freesync or gsync yet (unless im mistaken). For me, im not selling my monitor, so I have no choice really.

They aren't out yet, but looking at the history between the 2 brands... Nvidia has been kicking AMD's arse on power consumtion. And it would be quite epic if they actually managed to knock Nvidia down for once.

So yeah, that's my theory behind it :p
