Hey Guys, Can I please get advice on which client I should use based on my CPU & GPU's please. I have a I7 3930K & Two x GTX590's all of which are custom watercooled. Cheers

Hi, If you take a look at the redline folding article that Tom posted on 12/02/2013 amd scoll down to to fifth paragragh "How to get started" you will see what I am talking about?

The V7 client can facilitate all of your hardware, but I don't think you'd be able to differentiate between what your GPUs are making and what your CPUs are making. A popular get-around is to use the V7 client for SMP and GPU Tracker V2 for your GPUs.

I have been using the V7 client for everything but I think I will go back to GPU tracker for the GPU for a while.

The V7 client has taking to using a whole core for some GPU work units

I am building a rig today just for folding. It will have a GTX460 until I take my two 590's out of my main rig then I will either sell them both or put one in the folding rig?

If your folding rig can power them and it can take the heat then get them folding away if you want.

One thing to remember though, folding puts more strain on the GPU than gaming, so they will get hotter than under normal use.

If you want a system that has a better watt to points ratio then you could sell the 590s and get a couple of 660Tis to go in your folding rig. They draw less power and so will run cooler. You will be down a bit on PPD but the system will be more economical.

Tracker = CPU AND GPU.......
