Which chassis?

So I'm bored and want a change, namely my case. I want a cube case it's as simple as that and ideally one which accommodates an ATX motherboard horizontally (I only know of one) we'll get to that shortly, vertical placement is something I'm after as I'd like to see the GPU in all it's glory. After much searching, like 5 months of searching I've narrowed it down to 2 cases, possibly 3.

So my choices are.

Anidees Ai Crystal Cube (Tempered Glass) with the Cooler Master Vertical GPU mounting kit.

or Thermaltake Core X5 (Tempered Glass), don't hate on me for this but I see huge modding potential with this frame and it's the only cube case with a horizontal mounted ATX motherboard that isn't Lian Li money.

My 3rd possible is to give the guys at Parvum a napkin doodle and see what they come up with..

So my question is this, what do you guys think?

If you have the money give Parvum "the brentwood lads a shout" they could build it to your specs and you could include the vertical GPU mount if you knew the measurements etc

I'm gonna cop flak for this, but imo, if you see a lot of modding potential, and it's not too expensive, I'd go for the thermal take.

It already has the mobo mounting style you want, which also automatically puts the gpu on display, and you can easily make it yours.

To me, the journey is about making the case yours, and that is where modding comes in. I can't see Parvum competing (cost wise), and it would remove a lot of the modding anyway. The anidees is also a good choice, but i question whether it actually meets what you want, and whether what you want can be modded in.

Just my 2cents.

i was going too say that proto type there doing now is absolutely stunning , but depends on your beer token supply
I might give J a call and see what could happen and a time scale.

My idea is to strip it down as it all comes apart without the need to drill rivets, paint all the internal panels white. Panel off the lower portion of the case with vinyl sheet, rip out the front mesh and ODD drive cage and fit my own custom filtered front mesh.

As for the Anidees that would be a simple vertical GPU mount kit from Cooler Master that screws straight in as that case has no PCI slot dividers to dremel out. Both ideas cost around the same £200 ball park.

I kinda like the Thermaltake case. As a long time AMD user, I like cases with lots of airflow and while this new tempered glass craze looks cool and all I much prefer mesh with plenty of ventilation. I also like that it has spots for optical drives or some other gadget you can put in there like a fan controller. I know you don't need an optical drive these days as thumb drives are dirt cheap and you can put anything you need on there but a basic CD/DVD burner is only $20 so why not. And I still listen to a lot of CD's and have a CD player in the car and in the house so I still burn audio CD's every now and then.

But yeah...get the Thermaltake one.

Just curious, why'd you decide against the Corsair Air 740? That's the one I like best for a cube case.

I really like the look of the Anidees any day whilst the TT has the airflow it just doesn't look nice with the way the front grill is, it would have looked better if it wasn't the whole front, do you like the Air 540?

Love the 540 but she's a bit dated now, I want something different.

People need to stop hating on ThermalTake. They are great strong cases for modifying

While a lot of TT's stuff does indeed look really good, The materials used tend to be lesser than the competition, Metal tends to be thinner, Plastic thinner etc....

Aye on their cheaper stuff you can see where they have used cheap materials or cut corners to save money, but the "higher" tier or more costly products I've seen are really worth a look. Now I'm not excusing what they did a couple of years ago, that was simply very questionable business practice and a low blow. But business is business and you know what they say about imitation. yadda yadda yadda... I'm not here to get everyone's personal opinion of a manufacturer I'm looking for my friends and fellow forum members input on a cube case choice.
