Which Asus board? Z77 Sabertooth or ROG Maximus V Gene

I have both boards in hand and need to make a decision on which to start building on and keep in the next 12 hours before the stores open. Which would you roll with and why?

P.S.

Thanks ahead of time.

welcome to the forum,

to me they are both the same, just different color schemes and price points. gene has less card ports and $40 cheaper.

they should do the same job, depending on what support hardware they will have loaded in them. sli/crossx would be

different, both can wi-fi but the monitoring softwares are different, but it depends on what your doing with the system.

unless you have a particular scheme .. your decision.

but for me neither jmo..

asus is my choice, these little beasts never failed me once, very stable, look amazing and are within a great price range featuring same if not ore features than most other competitors. of course sabertooth's have few advantages over asus, but if your going for a colour scheme youd be probably better of with gene

Dude...they're both Asus.

hi brian, what type of build are you doing and how are you going to use it i.e gaming, lan party's, or are you looking for a good all round pc?

I had this question a few days back funnily enough!

I eventually thought about settling on the Sabertooth, mainly to abuse the OC of my 2500K as I could see better OCs with that board. Didn't really read that much into the V board but I know I'd not really go down the mATX route. Personal preference really, depends on what your uses are I suppose.

I've been looking at both myself and from previous use of sabertooth boards i would probs get that and due to the fact that the maximus is m-atx puts me off.

The other option is to wait for the maximus V formula which is what i am doing, meant to be out early to mid may

If you do a lot of lan parties then it only makes sense to go with the matx. I do not attend parties anymore so I will also stick with my atx size. Will this computer just be sitting at the house? or will you be toting it around? As others have stated up top they are the same just one smaller than the other and cheaper
