Hi guys, I'm after a 17" LCD - any suggestions? Priorities as follows:

- Stylish looks (small bezel, slim depth)

- Cheap

- Removable stand

- DVI connection

- Colour reproduction

- Response time/gaming not really important

Thanks :)

Asda did have a nice BenQ 17" TFT with DSub and DVI input with either 16/12ms response time...

Cost: £150 - that was in the large Asda at Leigh Park mate.

Dell one. I just got a LOVELY new 20" widescreen one and OMG how much nicer do monitors get?? I'll PM u a gd place for gettin em cheap.

considering you stare at the monitor all the time you are using a computer, why not spend a bit more? I'm very sceptical about the cheapo 8ms monitors around.

There are a load of 4ms ones too! When it comes down to it, it's always worth splashing out on the monitor. As it is what you'll be stuck looking at day and night! My 18.1" cost £900, now about £150, just shows how little they cost these days.

I personally like the Xerox range, very nice monitors :)

Well I do have a dell 2405FPW as my main monitor which isn't too shabby. I was planning on going second hand - just wanted to know what models to look out for. Want 17" rather than 19" due to lack of space and smaller dot pitch.

I would prefer DVI tbh - perhaps should have put that higher up the list there. As I say response time isn't important - 25ms will be fine etc

I all fairness Nick and no disrespect meant here - it seems clear you know exactly what you do/do not want in your 17" monitor.

There are a number of well priced e-tailors that can provide you with what you need and of course there is the bay.

No good asking a bunch of gamers/benchers (who only want low refresh rate monitors) what DVI 17" unit to get with a 25ms response time??

Thread closed as there is enough information here for you mate.
