Where do I find the Windows update files?

I just formatted and installed windows onto my computer and I hate installing all the Windows updates so I heard from somewhere that you can just take the updates onto a USB stick or something and throw them onto a computer with a freshly installed Windows OS I know this would be so much better so i would like some help with this. Where do I find the Windows update files and do I just drag and drop these into the right folder or do I have to run a .exe to make them work?

which OS are you using?

there are 'service packs' that are available - directly from the microsoft site
