Where can I buy a good desk?

Hey,
just now I have a really small desk that just doesn't have enough room and wondered if anyone knows a supplier in the UK where I can get a good desk for about £100. Ideally i'm looking for a desk that is big enough for my rig also.

Thanks.

I've heard that a lot of people on this forum are fan of Ikea's Galant desks, you can have a look on their site. 100 Quid should get you a 160x80cm one

It's cheaper with A-Legs

+1 for the Ikea suggestion. Using one of their desks and feels massive. Can get my PC, monitor and speakers on here and still have the space on it for another 22" screen if I so desired. Not used the Galant desks but 160x80 sounds like the size of mine.

Thanks to everyone who posted replies.

Theyst0lemyname - When you said table with 5 legs you mean the corner ones?

The Ikea Vika Amon is great for the price. If you're going to be putting a lot of weight on it it might be worth getting the one with 5 legs. Mine has started to bow slightly but I've got quite a lot on it.

Honestly, I have two of these things and I wish I'd spent a bit more. The legs seem to be slightly different lengths so the whole thing isn't really stable. All I've got on there are a monitor, speakers, keyboard, mouse and a cup of coffee

No they do one with a 5th leg in the middle at the back. It's probably actually just them advertising it with a 5th leg fitted though as the legs and top are separate items.

Have you adjusted the legs? The feet on mine are threaded. I don't know if that will be a recent thing they've done though as I only got my desk about 3-4 months ago.

i personally got mine at a store called "Dänisches Bettenlager", i guess they exist in other countries as well considering their name includes "danish". oak desk, very solid, very heavy. nice desk.
else +1 on ikea, who cares, it's a desk. at least if you don't want to pay a fortune.

I used to use two of those and they're excellent.

I also bought two fan extractor cabinets and used them for storage. About £17 each with all of the hardware / hinges and brackets.

I have plenty of Ikea stuff but I'm not a fan of their desks. I spent a good deal of time looking for something suitable and settled on a Trexus Contract Desk -it's nice an sturdy with a vanity board so you can attach a 4/6 way to it and hide all your cables. There are plenty of varieties and you can get some good deals if you search around a bit. Great to mod too ...

this is something i have been looking into for so long! still havnt bought one because im waiting to redo my entire room. But i looked at ikea they were ok but i havnt had a customer experience with them so cant comment. But i really would like some with a large surface and deep to because i would use it for University work. Ikea have some nice ''looking'' stuff tbf http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/youth_room/10712/

you can ever choose your own table top and legs.

You can also check out the MALM desk. I recently bought one and am so far satisfied even though I have not bought a PC to put on it. I'm only buying it so that I can build on it and have it all ready.
