What's your occupation?

I do installs of bio-metrics gear, work with installing all the software including linking the software to a range of partners who are in around about 80% off all schools in the uk (and a few in america), provide support for companies like toshiba and other large companies that use our software. I also do all the IT work like networking for the firm and help with the software development

Quite a range of things spend
 
it fetches in quite abit of money as the software that quite alot of companies use is all written inhouse
 
Business Analyst / DBA in a telecommunications company.

I mainly mess around with SQL / Unix / Abinitio and for my sins MicroStrategy (Grrrrr why won't you do what I want you to!!! POS!).

It'd probably be hell for some people but I like the work.

Interesting to see the mix of people on here (just having read through the thread). Plenty of people doing non techie jobs. Something tells me there's a lot of wasted talent!

Full time at University, doing mechanical engineering, graduate hopefully in october, I work part time in Maplins (im a Maplineer....).
And to raise a little more cash for hobbies and stuff i do DIY, and sort peoples computers out for them, normally very basic things,but i have got someone who wants a PC built money no question so that might be fun, but pays for the beers lol.
 
I'm working as an IT security specialist and nearly finished my degree and have gotten other qualifications for it (got lucky to start in the job without a qualification, got tested on my knowledge instead :) )
Before this I had another degree but it was in accounting and working in a related field
Before that I was a royal engineer / design draughtsman in the british army :) (best job ever while it lasted).
So a jack of all trades type guy :P
 
Lead Web Developer at a web technology company in Lincoln. I'm technical team leader on most of our projects. Work with a close team of 3 main guys who have a mixed bag of skills. :)

I use php, mysql, html, javascript/jQuery, actionscript3, and a whole bunch of other languages to make awesome eCommerce websites and content management systems. :)
