What's your occupation?

Everything technology related involved with broadcasting.

.... none the wiser ? Neither was I.

EDIT: from the computer at your desk, to the one in an edit suite, audio, video, cameras, to one at an event, to the one that aids transmiting. And all the junk that surrounds it.

... right up to changing mice !!

Got my first ever job this summer as a camp counselor at the local Rec Center. Definitely not the best job, but it feels awesome cashing those paychecks. I'm trying my hardest to save it, but having money makes it really easy to spend money!

Love Junglies but that was just a random photo off the web. I'm looking towards Wildcat and UAVs hopefully. You in the MOD too?

Fair enough! :) I'm not, I spend most of my spare time photographing aircraft, so my knowledge comes from that side of things :) Hoping to train as an air traffic controller in the next 12 months though!

6.50/hour actually is pretty decent. And 6500/m really is high. that would be 1000 hours a month, 250 hours a week. And a week only contains 168 hours :P
To my defense I'm 19 and when I helped the school's caretaker two weeks ago, I earned 28 Swiss Franken/hour, which is about 22 Euros/h this is why I thought 6.5 Euros wasn't that much. But I have to admit 6500 would have been an aweful lot..

Anyway, very interesting to see what you guys do!

:O
That's an aweful lot! If anyone would pay me that I would have my PC together in 2 months :P

I retired from the US Army in July after 21 years. I will be attending College in the fall for Network and Systems Administration. So I am a student/retiree/unemployed couch potato. And the school thing is because my job in the Army did not translate to the civilian job market. But I do have an extensive background in IT just not well documented and so it just fits.

We have the same issue when our lads leave the UK forces although the resettlement support is getting better. What's it like in the US?

It has been getting better here and the politicians have been making ground on veterans post service issues mainly jobs. As it has long been touted that service equals employment after discharge I am here to tell that it does not. But my college is paid for by my service and I get a housing stipend plus retirement pay and I may just make it for the next few years just not alot on the side for hobbies.

Sounds like a very similar situation to us then. We're losing a lot of people due to cuts (not that there was a lot of us in the first place) and there isn't a whole lot for them to show from their time and not a lot of jobs out there at the moment either.

Surely a caretaker can't earn more than about 8 euros an hour so to give you 22 can't be right? :L
